Default New to scion life.

hey everyone, I'm Travis, i've been visiting this forums more often then i can count, I have a 05 XA, and i'm modifing as much as i can afford w/o starving Right now i got

2 10" Pheonix Gold Tantrum X subs, custom box enclosure

Injen chrome cold air intake

I'm trying to get more HP right now I read an article the two easiest ways is cold air intake and performance spark plug cables (which worries me b/c of the fact that i could possible distort my stereo w/ such a cable so i've heard) so my goals are right now performance over looks, so what do you guys think or recommend for me startin' with ?

Dont worry about cables. No clue where you read that. The 1NZ-FE engine hasa coil on plug design = no spark plug wires in the older term.

Go with a axle back (like Precision Mufflers) and a header. Thats going to be the 2 easy things you can do to get a little more pep.

The full exhaust treatment is going to help a alot. Without going FI or Nitrous, I/H/E are going to give you the most gains. Flywheels and things of that nature are going to help acceleration, but are not going to influence over-all horsepower.

The fly wheel will help out in TQ to. With the engine needing to waste less engergy, to get the stock fly wheel spinning, the wheels can see more of this extra torque that is normaly used to turn the fly wheel. Thats why some cars can see as much as a 30% jump in power with a fly wheel. Now mind you, those are cars with 20+LBs fly wheels that go after market of like 8LBs. In the case of a 1NZ-FE, I would guess it frees up about a good 8whp or so.

Also, lightweight 15" wheels will give you a bit more power over the stock steelies.

Yes good point. Light weight wheels, help more then just go. It helps reduce stoping distance. Also helps reduce unsprung weight = better handling.
