Default News article about special edition xB (plus other cars too)

This article is about how special edition cars lose more of their value than the standard cars.
In this case R.S. 2.0

that not surprising on most of the cars as when resaling the cars the sales person doesn't know all the differences and sales it just to sale it. The customer may know but no one in their right mind is gonna state while buying a car oh man I should be paying more for this car it has this this and this in comparison to that other one.

i dont think it would be less than a stocker...the RS was a couple thousand more than the stock so i think this means they all just break even

How can I take seriously an article that doesnt even know the year the vehicle was made.

And if they knew anything, most special editions that are actually limted quantitiy like and old judge or a 'cuda drop top, hold their value very well

F that article. I love my butter toast and they can kiss my @$$ saying that they don't hold value. The xB1 is a lot more sought after now that the new body style is out. I look through the Auto Trader and I don't see too many of them for sale. They're still out there, but not as many as a G35 or 350Z for sale.

Couple things i noticed.

Because its a limited edition and color, that makes it only worth more to someone who wants a yellow one. Much like any limited series car. This is also the case for those who dump thousands into any car, then try and sell it and make up what they have into the car. If you find that one person who is willing to pay for your vehicle, then you stand a better chance on making more money out of it. The 1st gen box is the black sheep of the car industry as it is, so to find someone who has to have the yellow is that much harder.

I can tell you that my bro-in-law flooded his RS2 last fall in a freakish T-storn here on LI. There was over 5 inches of rain dumped in one spot in just over an hour. By the time he knew what was going on, it was too late. By the time he called for help the inside was already full of water up to the dash! Insurance not only covered his loan, but gave him almost 2 grand back in his pocket. Not bad for $500 down and making payments for just over 2 years.

Supply and demand.
Right now its about equal, but as time goes on, and supply drops, we'll all be looking good, far as value goes.

I mean. Who bothers to paint a polar white the exact same soler yellow?

Because they wanted one and could not get one. So they made one.

An RS should command a slightly higher price than a same year xB. Even if you don't care about the limited number of RS's, the RS had additional accessories and features that would either cost more or weren't available on the standard xB.

But many standard xB's are have mods and accessories installed so how much of what's specific to an RS do used buyers care about? And the colors... The xB RS's aren't exactly subtle and don't appeal to as wide range as any of the standard xB colors.

Someone willing to pay a premium for an RS would probably need to be someone specifically looking for an RS. I'd guess many people are either happy with the base or would rather spend the extra on mods than an RS.

There's a gym near me that did that. They had a yellow xB, but it wasn't an RS. Maybe that's it in the photo because they don't have it anymore!

Wow...that's funny. If I did'nt know what a real RS2 looked like, it would fool me from the outside. No turn signals on the side mirrors gave it away.
