Default no hub caps?

so i curb shotted last night pulling into a tight space. i guess i got a little overzealous about the smallness of my new XB and didnt think i needed to parallel it in.

caught the front hubcap on the curb while turning in.. when i pulled out and started to drive off i heard this fwapping sound from my front wheel. it was a busted hubcap.

i've hit a number of curbs in my day but have never broken a hubcap.

anyhoo.. so now i'm rolling bare blacks... its not a horrible look.

around here, Autozone, and Napa have the rings and even the little chrome dust covers, which looks pretty good.

Tire shine wouldn't hurt either! j/k ; )

I'd just go all black steelies, forget the trim rings. Looks fine.

i went to Kragen... they only had 3 in 15"

i bought 4 15" rings.. the first one i grabbed didnt fit so i was like WTF? .. it was a 14" .. how you gonna have only 3? now i'm going to go to another store and screw up their inventory by getting just one.

i think the rings will make it pop a little more. plain wheels makes it look like i rotated my tires and got lazy or something.
also, i've seen other "steelies" (?) around and i'd like to stand out from the pack a little.

thanks for the tips guys.

Looks like a great opportunity for you to scrub the dirt off those steelies.

I've been driving my 06.5 PW around with just the stock steelies since we bought my wife's 06 BOP. I gave her my 17's and left off her plastic wheelcovers. The black wheels do contrast well with the white body, but, yeah, you need to keep the wheels clean and the tires shiny. I had considered painting the wheels body color. I may just do that if I ever get a little free time.

General Info,
Steelies=Stock Steel Wheels
PW= Polar White

So MSIGuy is basically saying he likes his
'Panda look' White body w/ black stock wheels w/o covers

On the Scion forums, your Ride is referenced to the Factory Color.
Yours is BCP=Black Cherry Pearl
Mine is TCM= Thunder Cloud Metallic (Silver)
Designations are originated from the Factory Brochures.

Currently, I'm rockin' steelies with 15" Chrome Aftermarket covers
and viewing future Selections on Custom Wheels/Tire combos
for my LUV MOBILE being modded.

Beauty Rings or Trim Rings are not hard to find.
Now, the Center caps are a whole different story.
They, generally are Hard to Find the right type
and actually can be more expensive than the Beauty Rings
themselves because there are so many to avoid.
A lot have specific logos imprinted. i.e. Chevy Bowtie, Ford logo...
Best IF you can find them would be a clean Moon caps or similar.

Best Bet is to start an Web Search. A start would be:
http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Parts-Ac...2%20Hub%20Caps

In the mean while, I would scrub down the Tire sidewalls and steelies and
put a shine protecterant on them would look nice for now.
Good Luck!

this is my opinion, so dont turn this into a full blown arguement please.. i took the hub caps off my car and tried it for a while.. and it i just couldnt stand it anymore.. its looks like someone who just cant afford wheels.. get some wheels.. and stop hitting curbs.. now mooncaps thats not a bad idea, with those it can be done right.. also do the right thing and wash that car.. hah.. also lowering it wouldnt hurt.. hehe

(i dont have wheels yet, cause im working on tuning the suspension)..

yes yes, i know.. i need to wash it. i'm gonna look for the moons or some caps. chrome nuts for sure. those should be easy right?

and i'm seriously considering getting the lowering springs.. maybe 2" .. ive never done it before. dont even really know where to start. my dad (mechanic) says lowering will really screw up how my car rides.

is it really that bad?
