Talking not so pricey mods

Well I know a lot of people are strapped for cash these days (as am I) and we all like to keep our xBs and bBs looking quite stylish with a "personal touch" but most of the time it costs a pretty penny! So I wanted to start this thread for people who needed ideas or just a start on some cheap/little mods they can do and it is an easy thread to look at. So I guess the criteria can be as follows:-Well I think a good amount of money should be around 100$ or so but the cheaper the better!-DIY articles and or links are prolly gonna be most of this thread so yea they are encouraged-Mods can be little or big!I am finding out that there has GOT to be a lot more of mods you can do to your car without spending a fortune!

Off the top of my head....Lights.
I bought some awesome lights from www.oznium.com

http://www.oznium.com/led-flex-strips

I bought 2 4.7inch for under the dash, 2 2.4inch blue strips for under the front seats pointing toward the back of the xB

i also bought a 5mm LED dome light

http://www.oznium.com/flexible-5mm-led-dome

I ran some wiring down from the dome switch and then I tied them all in together so that the lights come on to replace the dome light. Now i can actually see the floor in the xB when i switch the dome switch on or i open the doors.

Cost about $50 with buying some extra wire/fuses. great little starter mod.
I know little to nothing about cars/wiring and i made it look pretty sweet. Clean install with almost no wiring showing. It's gets a lot of looks in parking lots when i hit the unlock on the fob from far away, glows a soft blue on the inside. I'm going to buy some more and start on the vents and the cup holders and run then off a toggle switch.

Hope it gives someone an idea.

edit = pics

Seems brighter in this pic

Front seats

Back seat (lights under the front seats pointing toward the back)

Side view of the xB (yes, i'm rocking SpongeBob window clings)

That's a lot of glow for only $50. They have lots of colors and a mod to make them "dance" to music.

Oh, it takes some patience, but I'm a novice and I went to our local Wally World and picked up 3 yards of some heavy fabric and redid my headliner for just over $35.00 including the spray-on adhesive. Big effect!

Repaint your interior pieces (use clear coat over top of your color, I didn't and need to redo it now 2.5 years later). Costs 1-2 cans of spray paint, blue tape, and a weekend of removing pieces and carefully masking them.

Oznium flexible LEDs behind the grab handles. Costs about $50-60 in strips, switch & wiring.

I don't have pics of it handy, but I also used some of Oznium's Surface Mount LEDs to add additional lighting. One is hidden up under the edge of dash above the shelf in front of the passenger. wired to a switch it makes a great map light. I also have two mounted inside above the rear 1/4 windows and a 3rd on the bottom of the inside of the tailgate near the latch. Those are wired to the dome light to give me more light in the trunk area. $3.50/ea plus wiring & switches

What size LED strips did you use in the grab handles?
Did you mount them in the handle (that little cubby hole on the underside) or on the headliner?

you have to dremel out the ribs in the handles so they fit. I can't remember what size i ordered, just measure the grab handle and thats the size you want. perfect fit.

If you don't like the look of your wimpy AT shift lever, you can do a MT look for about 50-75 bucks.

HID's
Tint
LED's
Grills
Paint Rims
Back out Tail lights
VVti decal on grill.

those are dirt cheap mods, and really bring some flavor into the scion.
