Numb leg
So I get home from work last night and go to bed since it's 1 am and I'm tired.
Strangely I notice the surface of my right leg along the top and leg side is partially numb, which is really strange as it feels like I have an ace bandage on it. There's not surface marks or any discoloration so I go to sleep.
Today I'm driving down to my parent's place for New Years celebrations and the numbness comes to mind and I realize what may've caused it.
Being a guy, my legs naturally want to spread apart for whatever reason God intended
and in doing so my right leg wants to lean out across the center space between the driver and passanger seats. In doing so the button of the automatic shifter presses firmly against my leg right where the numbness began.
Now, I'd noticed this when I first drove the box off the lot, but I figured I'd adjust to it, now it seems I'm depriving my leg of blood just by driving my wonderful new car
I tried scooting forward to rest my knee on the center console but that proved uncomfortable, and any posture that keeps my leg from leaning on the **** is also uncomfortable.
I've pondered making a custom pad for my knee to lean against but am slightly stumped for how to do this properly.
Anyone else having this problem or have a solution?

If it's your thigh, you may have a condition that I have called Meralgia parenthetica which is actually quite common. I noticed this several years ago and went to my Doctor who said that he also had it and not to worry. He said just learn to live with it, it's no big deal. I don't even notice it anymore.
I'm 6'-3" and I like the seating position in the box because it seems to be easier on my back than previous cars I have owned.

Unless this Merry Poppins thing developed at the exact same time as I bought the car then I doubt that's it.
I 'fixed' the problem by taking a section of a damaged mud flap, cutting it to the right shape then hot glue-gunning it to the edge of the footwell. I then duct taped a chunk of foam to the leg-side of it and added a notch in the back so the door of the 'oven' supports it. I drove 60 miles with it like that today and it was quite comfortable, certainly got rid of the leg proding. Plus the duct tape fits in with the color scheme quite well!
I'll get some pics up if I can soon.

I know, sounds like a redneck project, but it actually looks okay. Eventually I'll find some soft leather to wrap the foam and mudflap peice in and add an arm down to the base of the center console so that it looks at least semi-official.
Dang it if I left my camera back at my parent's place over Christmas... pics coming eventually.

I trust it will turn out looking good. Next time you can substitute these descriptions:
damaged mud flap : injection molded rubber
hot glue-gunning : thermal adhesion
duct tape : high tensile strength bonding strips
chunk of foam : polyethylene product

It may help to adjust the seats. put some washers in the front so you lean back some. make sure you get longer bolts of course. grade 8 steel or something like that.
worth a shot...maybe the pad plus the seat adjustment would work out best.
