Default 'original' Xb values

With the new model Xb coming out (or is out already), is there any speculation as to the value of the 'original' Xb? Thanks

Depends on miles and condition of the car.

Should stay high like the Echo did even after the xA/xB came out. Plus it's a Toyota, that should help keep them high for years to come.

My good friend here at the Scion dealership (sales manager) says they'll be worth more AFTER the new xb hits the streets. Why? Because there are no more 1st gens being made! That instantly makes some people want them more and so the price goes up.

.... we'll see.

You will have to wait and find out I guess but I don't think it will go up. There are so many cars in the market and they come up with new models every other year but that doesn't mean there values go up just because they are not in production.

There may be a lot of people trading them in for the new one--will have to see on that. With gas at $3.29 they will retain value based on mileage.

I believe that the car will hold a strong resale value. I base that on it is made by Toyota, is unique looking, gets great gas mileage (the new one doesn't do as well), is roomy and how can you beat the price, it was only around 16K brand new.

Yep this sec gen is the begining of scion going to the acerage consumer. It will either hit big or die off. Either way there is only one 1st gen xb. I'll be keeping both mine FOREVER

The value of MY xB (note correct spelling -- it's "xB" not "Xb") will be . . . almost NOTHING when I sell it. This car, like the cars I've owned before it, will be WORN OUT when I get rid of it!

For a lot of reasons, xB's in very good condition and average or less than average miles should hold their value well- and that's a worst case scenario.

They already have a cult following, we're part of it, and that probably won't fade quickly...

I know we see a lot of xBs at present, and it seems like they are everywhere....however.....Overall, people are slow to assimilate new things. A lot of people still want to know about my car that don't know the first thing about them.....And if they were to ride with me and like it....guess what? Out of luck. I think they could have sold tons more. I'm soooo glad they stopped. Ours will stay forever unique, and surely hold their value. I still am in Love with mine. The visibility along with low center of gravity make it so much fun to drive. I think the higher beltlines on the new cars will take away from the charm.

I think value will stay strong, just when you see another xB on the street do you not think like wow thats a sick car. I personally do. It gets me more excited that I'm driving an xB, its really just an amazing car for the price it kills too. I see the xB(1st gen) being something along the lines of what a 66 Mustang is right now. Our cars are just amazing, now don't get me wrong about the other cars but ours is one that truly sticks out, theres tons of hathbacks and sedans on road but how many box's are there. Sure theres the Element but its multi colored and looks pretty weird. The new xB's there nothing special in my opinion, its kind of like the 98's mustangs arent that cool either. Scion will revive itself from the xB2.

I've sort of gotten fonder of my box lately since the 1st gen was discontinued. Before it was my last choice of my 3 cars to drive, but lately, I've revisited it as my 1st choice again. (best mileage car of the 3 too)

Yep those MG's sucked but they had a following. I'm just hoping all the scion owners get there heads out of their @ss and join us in this comunity. I'm so tired of waving and getting nothing back. I thought we would be like bugs, bikes, ETC. You know a community. Damn gas crunch got everyone and their mom to buy one. NO loyalty.

Sorry you all hed to hear me vent.

So freakin TRUE! It's amazing how passionate we can get about the ultimate ECONO BOX!

Went to view the new xB last week, and again last night while my xB was having an oil change, and the new one isn't nearly so interesting visually. Dealer confirmed that values of the originals will increase.

Did you know that Gulable is not in the dictionary...
Don't beleive everything you hear, I for one think that they will hold, but that is my OPINION. and you know what they say about them: ther are like @ss holes everyone has on and they all stink. Dealers shmeelers.... Time is the only thing that is going to tell us whether of not they hold their value.

The value ain't gonna matter much if your keeping if till its dead. Thats what I'll be doing. And once it dies I will reincarnate it with a rotary engine and make it an insane sleeper...........

Anywho I'm sure you are all tired of hearing../ scratch that reading what I have to say so I'll end on this note
