Calm down children ;>).....................This is how the business world works. It takes awhile for problems to arise, longer for the manufacturers to admit it, and even longer to do something about it. _____in' and moanin' will get you some where eventually, I just dont know where..............

yes..._____ing and moaning will ____ the dealer off. I just want my car too look nice again. If I knew more people from this area I would get the media involved and have them do a cover story. They'll usually take just about anything.

It will just take time to come to resolution. The dealerships are not going to want to jump the gun and do repaints at their expense. They will want Scion/Toyota Corp. to cover the cost. Also, what is the sense in repainting it the same way if the problem is going to happen again? They will have to determine what the problem is, and then identify the appropriate corrective action. I am a Materials Scientist and have worked on several problems like this in the past, so I am familiar with how it goes.

I do find it interesting that my dealership hasnt contacted me yet. Typical business response when they are responsible for a problem..........NO RESPONSE>

I feel I should go into dealerships across the area and find people looking at Scion's and then take them to my car and show them how bad the paint is. I bet Toyota would love that. Only problem being...i think I could get arrested?! I'm going to call the Scion Customer experience line and see if I could perhaps set up a meeting since this seems to be such a widespread problem. Others have already done this and gotten a meeting about the issue, but the arbitrator has not gotten back to them as it seems to take one to ten days before they can make there final decesion. My thought is that if enough people do that eventually there may be a recall.

Please pardon my misspellings I was in a rush typing this as I still have more homework to do.

No, that's not illegal. It's called your freedom to protest, and your freedom of speech. Stay on public property, and waive a sign (do not interfere with customers), and you'll be 100% legal. Although I doubt this would be effective. A class action suit would be much more effective, and just the threat of a legit CAS would make Toyota resolve the problem. But organizing such a thing takes time and money.

I wouldnt go showing prospective buyers your car on Toyota property. You just might end up getting at least escorted off property and have a restraining order placed on you. That wouldnt help your case.

Although the system is set up in favor of the companies, you have no other choice but to go through arbitration..................

Hey guys, I'm in the paint protection industry and I think I might be able to help out you guys with your rock chip issues. I don't want to step on any toes here, but would it be cool if I posted some info about our paint protection kits?

Default Paint Protection

I dont see any problem in posting your product, but you better check with the moderator. I have only one comment: What good is paint protection if the paint is defective? Being a Materials Scientist, that seems to me like causing more trouble. Now you have get the "protection" off before you can address the paint problem, and you may end up voiding warrant. Any guarantees on the latter?

Without being a representative for Scion/Toyota, and not being able to speak exactly as to their particular warranty, I'll say that in the years our shop has been in business, we have never once had an issue with a manufacturer voiding a paint warranty because of our film. In fact, the film we use is used by many manufacturers.

You're right, for people like Hydrothetek whose paint has cracked out, of course, our film won't fix or prevent that. But from what I've read on this board, it looks like some people are just having issues with the paint's tendancy to chip easily, in which case, I think paint protection film is just the ticket.

Trust me guys, I feel your pain - think Scion paint is bad? Try owning an old Subaru...
