Default PaintScratch.com (Anybody use this?)

They seem to have the answer to the poor paint job Toyota did on our cars.

Anyone ever use them?

They sell paint in little touch up bottles, pens, spray cans, and cans up to a gallon IIRC. I've used the spray paint on two occasions. Once to spray my front bumper to cover all the rock chips before a show(it worked, I took home a trophy) and another to touch up an engine bay on a GTI I was doing an engine swap in.

to fix things properly requires a lot of work...
depending on the scratch/chip
sanding, filling etc... its nice that the place has basically everything you need... but it really isn't quite that simple of a job... especially since we have to paint and clear coat..

If it works to cover those absolutely aggravating scratches, that on any other car would be nothing, great.

Keep this car long enough and it will definitely need a whole new paint job (or should I say an actual paint job).

Anyone have any before and after pics with this stuff?

So I purchased and the products came in...

It says that it's recomended to let the paint dry for 24hrs...damn man, thats like saying I can't drive it for 24hrs.

Anyway, I plan to paint over my scratch in a couple of days...I'll keep you all posted for those who have small scratches on your boxes : )

Default decent product

I've bought paint from them for two other cars, and it worked out well. I prefer the brush bottles - anything requiring spray and I should go to a bodyshop.

I also just got the camouflage paint for the xB in this week - hopefully I won't have to use it for a while.

WEll now... I have a verdict.

I'm not very skilled in filling in a scratch so bear with me.

I decided to paint over 2 stratches one on top of the car and one on the hatch-door. The one on the top was fairly easy to paint on. As for the hatch door, since its on its side, it's tough to control the paint.

Um, I didn't do a great job in painting over the scratch so now my car looks pretty messed up hehe... Ill take pics soon.

The product is nice and I do recomend it though for those who have minor scratches on their car..

hmm i'm thinking about getting this stuff... I think someone keyed my car... wither that or someone scraped it and didn't bother to leave a note...

Anyone notice that the pricing is a bit odd? the spray can is best deal except for the 128 oz drum. I wonder why that is....

bBsactoguy:
do you have pics of your work? just want to see how bad things can get if you have no experience...
btw, did you do any of the stuff they tell you to do like sand it and everything?
and which products did you get?

a way to help keep you paint inside the lines of the scratch..take some masking tape and line your edges the fill in from there...it will help you if you dont have an extremelt steady hand.

I thought you would want some overlap... and then you would sand it down... to match the rest...

Is the colormatching legit? Can be kinda tricky to do with metallic paint...
