Default parking brake

I need to adjust the parking brake, it is almost straight up before it catches. I did adjust the rear brakes (drive backwards and brake etc) but that hasn't changed the travel on the parking brake. How do you adjust it??
Thanks

To adjust the e brake you have to remove the center console. To take it out you need to remove one bolt that is in the rear cup holder under the little piece of fabric. After you take that one screw out you should also pop out a little piece of plastic that is under the e brake lever to avoid damage. Just pull that out with your fingers. Once that is removed begin to carefully pull up the center console. There are only two clips and they are in the front under the front two cup holders. After that is removed just take a wrench (10mm I think) and adjust the tension of the e brake. I hope this helps. If you have any questions just pm me.

Wow, my e brake catches after the first couple clicks. It's an auto so I never really use it except when I'm changing rear wheels tho.

Default e-brake

Thats one way, but the reason its catching so high is because your rear brakes are out of adjustment. Take the rear wheels off, put down the e-brake and look on the back of the drum there is a small rubber grommet. You need to take the grommet out and stick a flat head screw driver in there and either push up or down (depending on left or right side) until you feel resistance. -Or- take the drum off and turn the same adjusting screw a few times, put the drum back on and feel the resistance. Keep doing this until there is slight resistance (you can still turn the drum by hand). This needs to be done every 20-30k according to dealer.
