Default Pass side punchout blanks in dash?

Just in front of the pass seat and over the glove box is a shelf with a bin next to it. Just behind this shelf is a punch out about 1.5"x2". What is this for?

Also, on the dash, above the ashtray there are 3 punch outs. I would guess one would be for fog lights, but what about the others?

It covers the bolt that secures the passenger airbag. See this navigation installation how-to:

It is the hole for the optional Mega Neutron Positiveanator, which propels your scion to 0-60 in negative three years. TRD has release this option in 3402 A.D. and went into the future with their modified 81 corolla to make this option available to mortals. You can call Zorgulon X on the planet Elevex-Alta 5 for more info, but he only responds telepathically, so get some acid.

I had one of these installed, and the only problem are the numerous space millipedes that fuse with you neck in cyberspace. Also, due to the Negative Positrons I incurred during my travels, I inadvertnetly caused my future self to not have a job, not learn how to spell, and have alot of free time on his hands, enough to write this incredibly stupid post.

Good Luck

I am not sure what the punchout behind the "shelf" is, but the other 3 that you mentioned are used by the dealer to place the Fog Light Switch, The Scion Security Sensor I believe and than the third one can be used for anything...Personally I used the second punch out to place my interior lighting switch...which is not what the dealer uses... :D

Simple, the three punchouts are for under dash/seat cold cathodes, glovebox/dash box cold cathodes, and a/c vent, roof grab bar, and door handle LEDs. Duh!

I think the passenger side dash mounted cutout would be a great place to put a switch in that controlled a passenger ejector seat... I'm sure my passengers would be curious enough about the switch directly in front of their face to want to play with it.
