power lock works on the truck door?
Yeah, one hit of the remote gets 2 hazard light flashes and driver door unlocks. Hit again and 2 more light flashes and all doors/trunk unlocks. Hit panic button while nosy people stick their face on the glass to peek inside gets chest-clutching peds running away. :D

On my Dad's Tundra he programmed it so you only hit the button once to unlock all doors. Almost all cars have this as a feature you can program. He programmed my Mom's Rendezvous to unlock all the doors with 1 press on unlock. I wish Scion had this feature. Also I learned today at the ATM that with the key in the ignition(running?) and you push the lock down manually it automatically unlocks. I didn't try the power lock button though.

I dunno if they changed it for '05, or if the xA is diff than the xB, but my 2005 xA has an audible "beep" confirmation. . . I have the security package so maybe that's why. . .

The interior light of my xB comes on when I unlock it with the remote. It doesnt chirp though. I thought it would. The VIP system on my Celica did. Made the car sound upscale. My neighbors BMW sounded the same when he disarmed his alarm.
I like the fact that it does not make sounds. I hate hearing horns going off all the time telling you that the doors are locked. I also hate the auto locking doors that some cars have.
Anther feature I found out was the auto relock on the xB. I had the car in the driveway locked. I left my keys in the house so I went back in the house and pressed the unlock button and watched the lights flash. I left the keys in the house and went back outside. The doors were still locked. Thought maybe I hit the lock button by mistake. Back in again and pressed the button again. This time I took the remote back with me. I heard the lock activate this time on the way out. Tried it again and sure enough, the xB locks itself back up if no one opens the door within about a minute. Cool feature :D

That's a good feature in my opinion. Say for instance you get out of your car and head into the movies and while you are digging for your wallet the unlock button gets pressed and now your car is wide open for thieves for the next 2 hours. But luckily the car relocks itself since no one opened the door within 30 seconds and your stuff is safe again. But it is annoying walking across a parking lot with your hands full and you unlock the car and right when you reach for the handle it locks back. You just need to get used to it and adjust, 30 seconds is a long time in reality.

It makes me wonder if there is an "undocumented feature" that turns on a full alarm system with the correct combination of door opening and closing, key turns, etc. It seems sort of silly to have all the parts there but not have an alarm due to lack of a few lines of code.

The "panic" button is an interesting feature. With that and remote entry you have all the elements of an alarm system.

Thats what I was thinking, My cuzin recently bought a a Tacoma with keyless entry, and he said that the dealership charged him $300 to connect a wire, which enabled his factory alarm. not sure if he was telling the truth but it does seem logical.
