Default Questions for those who know more than me

I am wanting to get some wheels. I have a 2006 silver xA, and had a couple questions...

1. If I stay with 15's, will I need to get wider tires for the rims? My tires seem so skinny. Is that just because they are 15's or are there many widths.

2. Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive 15" 5 spoke wheel.

3. How would lowering the car 1" - 1 1/4" with TRD springs on 15's look. Has anyone done this?

4. What do most of the people out there do when they get 15's? Do you all get new tires or stick with stock?

go to www.discounttire.com
They have free shipping, free mounting of tires, free balancing
You just imput your car, they give you the options, you chose...so simple, they give you a bunch of rim options, and a buch of tire options
Ohh and the stock rims are very skinny, i went with 7 inches wide on my xa, fit perfect and now i can take the turns way way faster
have fun

Yes, you can get wider tires for the stock rims a popular choice is 195/50/r15 and 205/50/r15. Rota makes some inexpensive but good qaulity wheels check out www.rotawheel.com or www.jlbmotorsports.com
I'm not sure if alot of people stick with or toss out the stock tire when getting new rims, you can fit them on your new rims most definately but the goodyears suck BAD. when I get my new rims, I'm gonna get some dunlops or falkens

I replaced my stock wheels with 15x6.5" and kept the stock tires. There is a very slight stretched look to them that looks good. I have have no issues with the 6.5" wide wheels.

I bought my Konigs from Discount Tire Direct. They are 15x7" and I have used the stock Bridgestone Potenza's on the rims. the 185/60/15 size tire will fit the wheels and it will give you a lightly stretched sidewall. My brutal and honest opinion is the Bridgestones can suck when pushed on dry pavement. I will be upgrading to a 195/55/15 summer tire next year as I will be running studded snow tires in the winter. With the 195 aspect ratio (width) this will allow for better cornering and a much more stable ride.

I will say this though, the one thing the Bridgestones do that I like, is; with my suspesion setup, if pushed hard, the back end will lose just a bit of traction in the turns and allow you to slide through it a little bit. It's definatly an enjoyable sensation with a bit of practice.

Default more wheel q's...

Hi fellas I just bought a 2k6 silver xA as well, picking it up tomorrow. I don't know anything about cars so can you throw me some answers too?

I have the stock wheel setup at the moment but I want some 17"s, so I would definitely need new tires right? Any recommendations for tire and wheel size/wheel brand/whatever would be cool.
