oh, that's just the roof rack for mounting the winch, the jack, shovels, gas cans and spare tires. you know, all that stuff you need to dig your 2wd car out of a mud puddle.

I would take the cobbled together Pioneer xB over the "Rally xB" any day. I looked at the links form the o.p. and man does that work look like crap. You have done absolutely nothing to the xB that makes it any more "off road" worthy. A couple of skid plates and a half-@55ed brush guard won't save your suspension in chassis.

At least the box from Pioneer has a complete Bronco chassis underneath and a 289 under the hood to move it. I have no doubt, if the owner ever decides to get the thing finished the right way, it will be one sweet machine. But even in the condition it is currently in it completely dominates the "Rally xB."

If you want to rally at all, get a Subaru.

But, if you want to drive a 2WD city car fast down smooth gravel roads with lights strapped all over your hood and pretend you're Collin McRae, then by all means go right ahead.

It is not a reqirement to have a subaru to rally. Not all rally cars are awd. Rally driving is about driver skill not about what car they drive. You shouldn't flame someone for doing something different with their box. I think its great. Looks like fun. I've always been a fan of rally driving. Nice pics btw.

BADASS.
i never even thought of rallying the box...

ive always been into rally. kinda sad i didnt get a subaru..but what can you do?
well..i was in a service crew for Joanna Balsamo at Rim of the World Rally in lancaster. I met a whole lot of awesome people.

and that "you need a subaru to rally" requirement is dumb. People rally 2wd ALL the time, competitively..they have 2 classes for competition Group 2 (lower hp cars limited to a certain displacement) and Group 5 (unlimitied crazy cars).
Best 2wd driver i met...Matt Johnston http://www.mattjohnstonrally.com/

Drives an EG Civic hatch..and wins. Impressed people so high up he was offered a Junior WRC ride..

he should be around! hes a really chill guy. the top people were kind of snobby when i met them (Travis Pastrana, KEN BLOCK, george plsek) but Leon Stiles and Matt Johnston were really friendly. Matts just your normal 23 year old dude.. very cool.
