well i would like to thank everyone who posted replies up on this thread for me. you guys and girls made me feel very welcome and i appreciate the knowledge bestowed onto me. haha. if this is how the scion people treat newcomers then i'm all in. i guess i will be looking for a first generation and making it faster and not wrecking.. now i just have to find out where to post my wrangler for trade on this site, being that its not a toyota or scion. thanks again everyone.. i will be around for a long time to come.

Infact your in the over 40 age thread "clique" All the bad mouthing I ever see comes from SL, you guys choose to leave this flame thread up. CxB closed our rebuttal thread right away. Most of the time when I talk to people SL almost always has a bad rep. for rude comments and flame posts. Do I use this site? sure, mostly for the Southwest forums to see whats up. Do I come here to contribute? No because just about everytime I see rudeness and or flame posts directed at the original poster. Maybe part of the heavy hand you hear about on CxB is because we dont tolorate BS like you guys do here.
You can take exception all you want, Patrick, but that doesn't make it right or wrong, it is still just my opinion.

You will also find that I was doing no "badmouthing" of Club xB, merely saying how it seemed to me, and the direction it was heading last time I was heavily involved.

And BTW, Patrick, you are the one being rude, right there in that post, but we don't get all excited about it. We are a bit more open here. We let our folks have their say if we agree or not. We don't lock or delete threads just because those in charge don't like them. We only do things like that when they get out of hand. Heck, we even let our members edit their posts so they can correct errors and typos.

Does that give the appearance of being a bit less controlled and more open to disagreement? Yes, but it also means that one can give their opinion, disagree with one another, discuss things openly without worrying about someone locking or deleting what we said because they don't agree.

We have squabbles. We have disagreements. They are worked out just as they are in real life rather than being stifled. Perhaps that is why some see the moderating there more heavy handed than here.

We try to keep order, but we VERY much try to stay neutral, and not insist on everyone thinking one way.

In some ways, it's a different philosophy, and even though it is messier and not as smooth as it is when everyone is in lockstep or deleted, it is the way I have chosen for us to be.

Some people prefer it one way, some the other. Anyone who doesn't like where they are is absolutely free to move someplace they feel more comfortable.

No place is perfect, and I for one do not try to make THIS place perfect. If it were perfect it would have no soul or freedom - it wouldn't be a family.

Take care,
Tom

If you stayed away you be saved from all the badness that is here; or you can keep coming as you presently do because you realize the importance of this site as stated above, based on you needing information. I agree with Tomas censorship sux....if you want that censorship and lack of ability to edit your own words then I guess it works for you... once again both sites are different this is a SCION site and that is an XB only site....

Because we really don't believe in censoring what people have to say unless what they say breaks the long established and clear rules this site is governed under.

Personally if there was something here that broke the rules I must have missed it.

Even if things break the rules or get out of hand we tend to exert control over the smallest space possible by redacting or removing individual posts.

If an entire thread has taken a turn for the worse, we will lock it, sometimes we will even make it vanish, but unlike some other sites, that is not our first choice as we believe the site is for the community's use, and not for the Admins and moderators to use for their own ends.

If there is a post that specifically breaks the ScionLife.com rules here, please feel free to flag it to our attention. That is a very important part of our management of the site.

All that being said, this thread has probably reached the end of it's productive life. Folks who had something to say have likely said it, those who don't really care have ignored it, and the only thing left is folks bringing it back to the top asking why it is still here.

So - I'm closing this thread.

Take care,
Tom

i just ment why should our site be discussing anything about clubxb?

clubxb isnt anywhere near the caliber of scionlife, so naturally its not going to be regulated as close.
