Default Redline Tires?

Hello everyone!

We'll, it's come time to start thinking about new tires for my 2006 xB with 50,000 miles. I have enough tread to get through the fall, but would be smart to do something before the winter

I currently have the Scion alloy rims with the standard stock tires. However, after a Mecum auction, I've decided to think about the Redline tires from B.F. Goodrich (http://store.coker.com/radial-redlin...ch-silvertown/).

Has anyone tried these? The size available is a bit off of the stock rims, so does anyone have a rim suggestion to accommodate the tires?

Thanks so much and have a great weekend!

Richard

You would be fine running the 185 65 r15 on the rims you have.

tCscotty: Thanks for writing! Really? While I know electronics really well, I know little about tires. How much play is there in the sizes?

Thanks so much!

I run 195 65 r15 on the stock steelies in the winter. Which is little wider than the tires your looking at. Plus the stock tires are 185 60 iirc. So the tire your looking at will be slightly taller, but not by much.

Check out the stretched tire thread if you want to see how much play there is in tire sizes

if you want a direct replacement get the 185/60 size.
if you want something that looks a bit more aggressive but still retain the sidewall for the milwaukee winters, go for a 185/50.

Stick with a 60 or 65 sidewall... the 65 will give you a bit more cushion.
