I just get the mid priced brands at walmart or autozone. I can suggest that you get 20" for the driver's side and a 19" for the passenger side.

I think I paid like $6 total for oem refills.
Then again, that's with my discount...

For the front, you lots of options; 'most any refill of the right size you'll find will fit. For the back, not so much. What worked for me was going to my Scion dealer and ordering a rear refill. It's part number 85214-52020 and it was a couple of bux. Slide the old one off and slide the new one on, and you're good to go.

Ahhhh, not surprised to see this from NYCxB! Greetings from Chicago - one of the other places that actually gets weather. First southerner to recommend shaving the rear wiper gets hit with a snowball!

EXCELLENT helpful info...I've been looking for a rear wiper replacement for years, since apparently nobody but us knows the xB HAS a rear wiper.

Question, though: can you think of any other places than the dealership to go? My dealership doesn't do sh_t for the Scion community, so I'm returning the favor. I try to avoid stopping in unless I need a car for whatever reason.

I just went on getscionparts.com (my go-to source for replacing things that have fallen off my car), and they don't even LIST the rear wiper. Such is the problem I've been having.

Anyplace else you'd recommend?

i'm in the northwest and live in constant rain/snow during the winter and bagged the rear wiper. it did more damage to the window and dirt spreading than cleaning of the window.

have fun being your own intermittent function

I'm from the north too and currently live in crappy Virginia. We get bad weather and I still rarely use the rear wiper but it is nice to have when you do need it.

We had 53 seperate snowfalls last year. It's not the weather I'm worried about - it's the fact that my car generally ends up covered in so much salt I forget the original paint color. And I don't have access to a squeegee often enough to keep visibility up. If I wanted to stop at a gas station every four days, I would have bought an SUV.

That would be why there's a function to squirt fluid before the wiper starts moving. RTFM.

The lack of intermittent function kills me, though. I was once in a storm in Pennsylvania where I actually left the rear wiper on...that was a little insane. I was like "Ummmm, if enough water is continually hitting the rear of my vehicle at 70 MPH to justify full-time wiping, perhaps I shouldn't be driving at all."

I'm just too lazy to switch out the controlling bit. In any case, I have a lot less trouble flicking a switch every minute or so than I would sticking my head out the window to see who's behind me.

Brandsport does: http://www.brandsport.com/toy-85214-52020.html
A bit more expensive than my local dealer, though. (I'm lucky to have an EXCELLENT Scion/Toyota dealer here in the backwaters of SE MN!)

Yayyyyy thanks! I ordered four. (There are two Gen 1 xB's in the family...and I like to stock up.)

Just so YOU know, I did a google search for "Brandsport Discount Coupon" and discovered THIS thread:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=57385

Who woulda thunk it! Brandsport offers a 10% discout with coupon code SCIONLIFE! Ha! I should have just tried it. I LOVE being on ScionLife!

Thanks again for the tip, it worked out great. NYC, I think we've found our dealer. I'll let you know how easy they are to put in. Peace!

I am a big fan of Bosch Icons, but try to get them on sale, since they're pretty pricey.

As for the rear, I think I have a rainX wiper blade, cut down to fit.

Sorry if this is reposted like 20 times. I should know better than to forum drunk.

MORE INFO ON THE REAR WIPERS. Thought I'd bump this since the northern half of the continent is getting or has gotten crappy weather.

I one billion percent recommend this supplier - I have the new rear blades on and it's amazing. Seriously, we got like 7 inches of snow and then dropped into the single digits, and it's wonderful to be able to see through my stupid rear window. They are literally OEM, without the hassle of having to actually go to your dealership. And since the switch takes like 30 seconds, it's hardly worth goign to your dealership.

Don't forget code SCIONLIFE to save 10%

Also, Pooder: I love you. I have been looking for these stupid things since, literally, early 2006. You get a gold star. Gracias! Also: you consider $2.37 expensive?
