Depending on popularity, I see the xb becoming main line toyota or some offshooot of it, maybe a seven seater. The CUV(crossover utility vechicle)is the new segment in the automotive industry. Automakers are embrasing these vehicles. As long the market demands, Toyota will have a CUV.Bill

I've said it before and I'll say it again... Hybrid Synergy Drive!! But I would like to see, if the xB is still around for US Gen 2, a longer cargo area like the other choice the Trix.

The story I heard from a Toyota rep was that the xB was going to run on a 3 year cycle. Then at that point there was going to be a review to phase it out .

you can get leather seats and a sunroof now, they're just dealer accessories.

Well, whatever they do I hope they don't "americanize" them by blowing them up into big suv type vehicles or anything larger for that matter and completely going away from one of the main reasons I was attracted to them in the first place. Good gas mileage, affordability, unique design, and small size which makes them light enough to still be a bit quick is what I like about them. The TC just for america doesn't seem like the xa or xb. I know it's suppose to be different and a little more sporty but the styling just hasn't grown on my like the Scions. Maybe a body kit or some restyling on it will make me like it. After I saw a Kenstyle kit on the XA it really made me see them in a whole new light. XB is still what I have my eyes on.

I don't think they'll make them too big, I mean that would cost more and drive folks away.

Uh...I don't think so fellas.!

The Series (Hot Lava) will only be around for a year, but the xB will have an indefinate lifespan...what makes you think it's gonna get cut so soon?

Name one other "successful" car that has been stopped in a matter of a year of it's introduction?

Let's see....

Take an xB, then add 4wd, another 20" in length, 5" in width, a V6, leather, a third seating row, dual moonroofs, Captain's Chairs, 20" rims, twin turbos, a DVD system for the back rows, lots of body cladding....

........On second thought, howzabout keeping it simple & pure like it is now. This is what I believe makes the xB such a revolution - it is the most "honest" design on the road. Not ONE ounce of fat or flab. No extraneous "styling" crud like even the Element succumbed to (an "almost" pure design gone astray)

BTW - Got my xB yesterday (Black 5spd) shipped up from Sac. We're the only Scion in the local area (makes it kinda fun... the licensing dep't here was confused about what it is )

they've been out in japan for three years though. anyhow, they ARE planning on updating them every three years or so, but i'm unsure on how that will work with current models that have been previously released in the japanese market.
it could be like Mitsubishis, I know with my 91 Galant vr4, in japan the last year for an E39a Galant was 1992, and the modle ended in america in 93, so they had the 1994 body style out in japan in the end of 92 so maybe they are gonna do something like that.

There was an article written about this exact topic. It was either on www.autoweek.com or it was at the Detroit News Online's car section.

They said there was talk about making the Scion vehicles limited editions. They said it wasn't a sure thing, though.

I just red this a few weeks ago.
