That's my exact setup. I went with the Teins because i didn't want to go crazy low (wife drives it too) but I wanted better handling and stability, plus help with the dreaded wheel gap.
The interesting thing about these is that they feel more compliant and way less bouncy over typical road irregularities, but firm up in a big way when loaded with lateral (cornering) G's. That's because they and other aftermarket springs are progressive rate, versus the linear rate OEM springs that tend to bounce all over the place all the time. I am very happy with the S-Techs. Here's a few pix: https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...bwe/XBside.jpg https://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...XBTeinDrop.jpg After these tires wear out I'm going to try 215/40 or 215/45 tires for a slightly cushier ride, and to fill the wheel wells even more. |
thanks
thanks for your input , got em today and me and my little girl took a lookie at them (wheels and tires coming tuesday)

it was either let her eat the plastic , or dangle her out a hotel room window in berlin , i chose to let her eat the plastic ( she loves it ) just kidding ...
p.s. she was being closley monitored and i was just taking a picture with the spring , babys try eating everything , plus i changed the second pic for you tools that didnt like it ... tough work competing with all the opionated "super dads/child wellness advisors" out there , any father who actually took a equal part in raising there child would "GET IT " you are so right though , the following pic is a guy that was fed plastic thoughout his childhood (tool) http://photobucket.com/albums/v722/p...t=untitled.bmp |

Are you bumping because you want to hear more about the springs or more comments about your daughter?
Either way, I'm on S-Techs with 17's and think they are super. The ride is about the same as stock as far as overall smoothness on regular roads. It's less bouncy but a little more harsh on rougher roads. Cornering is improved tremendously and the drop is great for those who want a nice look but not too extreme. It's very noticeable that it's lowered but not the bagged look. On another note, you have a very pretty daughter. Count your blessings for having her, protect her as best you can, and teach her to be a great person. Oh, and after taking a closer look at the second picture, teach her not to give everyone the bird. |
thanks
thanks for your advice an stuff, just curious , what size tire you running ?
|
205/40/17 I believe.

Good thinking.
I'll look out for some Dampa-chi products but I doubt it. |
put the springs in this afternoon
put the springs in this afternoon, i printed out the (tech) how to but fortunaly my friends shop has lifts, a spring comprssor ( wall mounted (bad ___)) and made it way easy compared to instructions on tech section ( but they still helped alot and thanks to who ever put them together , i drove around today and tonite (tein s tech and stock rims and tires) and i would have to say the tein s tech springs blow away the ride of the stock , smother ride , better cornering (same thing the guys above said) better all the way across the board over stock , you woundnt think it would be a more comfortable riding car with a 1.7/1.5 drop , but belive it or not it is (awsome) i highly recomend them
