Default Save space with smaller spare tire?

I have the smaller spare tire from my Echo and the plastic cover. The xB has depression in the chassis for the spare tire, but it's covered by the carpet. I wonder if it's possible to change the carpet and use the Echo spare? I'm am not sure it would be worth doing.

If u really need the space then do it. Personally I don't like those really small donuts and even though the factory spare in the car is thin it still has the same overall height which is nice.

U can always go with runflats and get rid of the the spare all together.

I would be careful that that smaller tire would be a different size than what you have on there..if you put 2 different sized tires on the front ..you could wreck you transaxle

Well anytime you run a spare you gotta be careful. Maybe it would pull to one side or activate VSC, I dunno. Does the Japanese xB use the spare tire well for anything?

bottom line..if you use 2 tires of different circumference

you will toast the transaxle

Oh well it was just a thought. I guess you could put an amp in the spare tire well.

With the size and shape of the space you would gain, What would you be able to fit into that weird shape that would make it usefull??? A drug stash? LOL

The JDM bB doesn't have a spare - instead of the rear parcel floor being raised like in the xB, the floor is flush with the bottom of the hatch, and I believe there is some minor storage space below.

Not only that - you will also most likely cause an ABS error and maybe even disable ABS. That is because it'll get confused by the difference in the wheel speed sensor not being the same as the other wheels.
