Default Scion Conversation at Gas Station

As i was filling up my xB this morning at the gas station, i could see the attendent staring at it through his window and i knew i was gonna get some questions about it when i went in to pay... here's how it went.
Guy: "What the hell kind of make is that damn thing?"
Me: "It's a Scion xB"
Guy: "It looks like some kind of minivan"
Me: "Yeah, Cept in only took me $29 to fill my tank."
Guy: "Damn"

Get this....when I first got my Lava in 2004 I was sitting in Taco Bell/BP Gas station I looked outside a some old man was sitting in my car...so I ran out and he said "This is the ugliest car I have ever seen and I had to sit inside it and look around." I was like what do I do to an old man that can hardly walk...so I made sure he did not steal anything and let it go.

I just picked mine up Saturday, first stop after picking it up was to a place to get some food that had an outdoor cafe seating area. As I am parallel parking the box, half the people sitting outside alll start turning around to look at it. Pretty awesome first story I think.

never leave your car unlocked. even if you can see it from where you are outside of the vehicle. that is Car Safety 101.

but yeah, people look and point all the time. most people say "i really like your car" or the like. The most involved convo was when waiting at an intersection, and a guy in a truck next to me asks me questions about it like "how does it drive, 4 cylinder right ? , how's the gas mileage , lots of room, blind spots, etc ..." pretty cool stuff.
then there are the kids with riceroni cars who try to act all thug when they pull up next to you. i hate those kind of drivers.

I have never ever been asked anything other than how much mileage I get. I guess the early 2004 owners got the working out here...........

Since my beard is gray and my hair is missing, other middle-aged people target me with xB questions. Mostly "my daughter/son wants one, should I buy it, is it safe" etc. I actually drew a crowd once outside a Borders once.

Of course, I tell them "you'd better buy two; you'll want one of your own."

I've caught people looking in through the windows and even checking the doors , and like all kinds, oddly its usually older people that check to see if the doors open.

most times i hit the "panic" button just to watch them run off scared.

I've had to show off mine a few times- in the Kaiser Permanente lot, at the gas station, rest stop, and in the Pepboys lot... not to mention the lot at work...

It 's TCM, so it doesn't attract as much attention as some of the other colors... and the 15" alloys aren't very flashy... it's really one of those love it or hate it deals...

I always get comments about it when I'm at the bank, depositing $$ with the teller, as well as when I'm at places like drive-ins.

No one has told me to my face that my car sucks though. Probably because I'd beat the ____ out of them if they did.

I've had a guy driving a Saturn ask me about my xB.

There's a black xB that I parked next to at work and the dang evening sprinkers left my TCM xB looking like crap.
