Scion Warranty: What breaks it?
I was wondering if anyone knows the fine print. What breaks the warranty? Does installing exhaust on your own break it, installing airbags? Stuff like that. What is their rules on it?

breaks the warranty? umm, i seem to recall a couple threads that kind of go over what voids the warranty, try searching.. i'd do it now, but my boss is ... ack! alt-tab
haha ok back.. so yeah, there are threads out there..
with regards to your specific example, putting on an after market exhaust yourself would 'void' the warranty on the stock exhaust but not the rest of the car UNLESS the failure can be directly proven by the toyota/scion mechanics to be caused by the aftermarket part or the installation of said part. this should go for any aftermarket part not installed by the dealer.
for example, if you were installing an intake on your own (or if anyone other than the dealer for that matter) and you mess up the MAF sensor, the MAF won't be covered since the failure was not caused by a defect in workmanship or quality of the failed part.
same with bags, the suspension won't be covered by toyota.
keep in mind that most reputable aftermarket parts companies have their own warranties on their products, you just have to go through them vs the dealer.
