Okay, I'm sorry for this, but I cant seem to find where the thread was for the new colors coming out next year. I've heard that Salsa Red and Flint Mica are the next colors for the xB, and if I'm not mistaken, they are replacing the Black Cherry, and Camo colors. I'm planning on buying one next year (06) before summer, and I really want a Flint Mica, When will those be out? When should I order one if I want it before Summer? What kind of down payments did you guys make? How high? If you dont want to answer than please atleast direct me to the correct threads.

Shadow Mica is the color of my xB (due to arrive in a couple weeks). Can't wait to see it on the box.

 

I'm also planning on buying an '06 xB, & also saw mention of the two new colors (also mentioned for 2006 was an overdrive for the manual tranny to help alleviate that buzzy note at 3500 rpm). Was at my local dealers over the weekend inquiring about this & they were totally clueless, saying that no, there are no new colors being offered in 2006. I would abso-LOOT-ly love one in Salsa Red . Has anyone been able to order this or have been able to confirm these changes? The dealer treated me as if I'd interrupted his meditation routine er something by asking questions.
Methinks they won't being getting any of my business when the time is nigh...

 

Go to www.scion.com, build a Salsa Red 2006 xB (site has been updated), print it out, take it to that Dealer and shove it right up his....phone's ringing, gotta go.

ah..hmm...seems it is salsa red PEARL. Dang, was kinda hoping for a nice fire engine RED. This looks more like a "dusty rose" shade. Will have to see if I can find a paint sample at a dealer once they get themselves updated. Looks like they list the manual tranny now "with overdrive" so that is a good thing. Gotta start getting serious about offing my Fo-cuss!

 

I do not believe there is any change in the transmission. The 5th gear has always had a ratio of 0.81:1. That's overdrive (less than 1:1).

You are probably correct. I thought I'd seen it on one of the forum topics (about the high revving needed for freeway speeds), that Scion was doing something about it for 2006. I too have always considered 5th as "overdrive", was hoping to see maybe 3k rpms at crusing speeds. Oh well, just havta crank up the tunes a bit more.

Hey...I was going to get a Camo but when I saw a TCM, I just could not get another color. Take a look at the first picture in the forum topic called xB pictures with background, there are a few TCMs there that are really nice...specially at night, when the lights hit on it. Black would be my next choice.

 

Was getting excited about getting a Red one, but wanted *r*e*d*, like my old 91 Sentra
SE-R. Looks like the Scion version ain't gonna cut it
So looks to be either TCM or that Black Pearl come order time.

after about 5 months i finally got my xb. i ended up getting black cherry pearl and i am very happy with it, it's a beautiful color. At first i wanted TCM but changed my mind to camo. Now that camo and BCP have been discontinued it was really hard to pick a color, until my dad said he saw a BCP on a car lot, and i knew it was the one =)

 

I got black. I thought it would look sharp, but I loathe the constant polishing and waxing to get the swirls and scratches out. I am using the Maguires 3 part system for dark cars. It got the swirls out, but it's like every spec of dust puts a scratch in it. Yes, I am using microfibers.

I think I would get another color if I had to do it again.

 

hmm havent gotten mine yet im thinkin bout SHADOW MICA to match my cars current color a 93 toyota pickup

 

i went with the sand pearl black it sucks to keep clean but after a good bath you can really see the sand pearl come threw i think that is about as good as it gets i was wanting to do a body graphic of some kind but my brain stop working when it came to designing it how many have a side body graphic?

 

I finally decided on Titanium Silver - unfortunately the paint was applied to a new 2006 Mazda3S Touring hatchback, now sitting in my garage..

 

All I know is Yellow gets alot of looks!

 

I got the blue onix plus added gray graffics exterios, painted the door panels sky blue and grey lether middle seats are now grey and blue leather.. I still need to add sound to my shoe.. it has for now 2 - 10" woofers and a 4 way amp with ofer 400 watts of sound but would like to add fiver glass to the rear box.. any sujestions from any one.. also how can I place a pic of my xb here
