Default Seat Belt Nag Light

Without discussing the merits of wearing a seat belt, do any of you know of a way to disable the nag light. I found no mention of it in the owners manual. I suppose you could pull the dash to unplug it but that is a lot of work.

i think this has been discussed. but im not sure

an option always is, taking apart the reciever part and soldering in a piece to touch the terminals inside to trick it to believe its on

Try unplugging the harness coming out of the seatbelt.

I suppose you could cut the wire that leads into the seatbelt buckle, but that might void your warranty if its still valid, and could cause other problems.

Cutting could also cause it to stay on all the time.

If your insurance company finds your cut cord if god forbid you get into an accident.. I don't think they'd be too happy.

Default What next; bald tires and defective brakes as a mod?

The answer is still the same.

Cut the seat belt and just leave the buckle in it. See you as part of a statistic.

Buy his seat belt buckle, and just stick it in yours.

if im not mistaken, taking the seatbelt off line also turns off your airbags... i know it was that way in my old corolla.

I am pretty sure there are some legal issues here too. Whatever you do to your seatbelt sensor better damn well be easily fixed. If you should sell your car or lend it to a friend without that sensor operating you are opening yourself to a heap of legal trouble. I know you don't want to hear this, but this is a public board and we are free to post our opinions. If you want to disable the sensor go ask the Scion dealer for a service manual and figure it out for yourself.
