Default Selling my sol for a box.. haha

So yes im selling my 93 Honda del Sol in replace of something reliable. Its my first time buying a car from a dealership. Ive been really interested in the Scion Xb, Bb if you may. I was wondering if you guys got any tips for me in saving money cause i know dealerships are notorious for putting a hole in your pocket if your clueless. Also stuff to lookout for. I just turned 20 and in college so my pockets aren't that deep like some of you. Any help would be greatly appreciated and bring me closer to owning a box.

Here are pics of my recent ride im selling and my current project.

EMO pic FTW!!!

buy it bone stock. no need for those dealer add-ons. and u should be good. the only thing i'd buy extra is the gap insurance. other then no other add-ons and u should be lookin to 250-350/month depending on ur down payment. good luck buddy.

get a silver one, they don't show the inevital scratches you'll receieve when you park it.

but of your choices, black is better.

You're going to have little to no luck haggling over a new Scion... they are pure price, and you're pretty much going to pay what the sticker says. Try to haggle over a trade in, if you're trading. Or, if you're really, really good, maybe you can get them to throw in some accessories.

But buy it stock... just about everything can be added aftermarket for less money.

To begin with, the xB went out of production in January. A lot of dealers only have 1 or 2 left. Some are out. If you don't have the money now, youre only chance is to be buy a used one.

For the love of god, please promise not to put orange wheels on your xB ok?

To be a pain in the butt, the xB didnt come in black. Did it? I thought it was like a charcoal metallic. Do you realize that?

Uhhh... Black Sand Pearl?
Charcoal was Shadow Mica (the best color, if I do say so myself.)

Go in there & look at the used ones. & then haggle haggle haggle! If you don't get what you want, leave the dealership & go back the next day. Or, haggle over the phone & tell them you're not very close to the dealership & you don't wanna make the trip right now unless you get a good deal. It works! Trust me, but it'll only work for a used one!

I also say....go with silver!

Ok, I don't remember seeing a black one, just the shadow mica. Did they have the black paint option through all the years?

im looking at a preowned xB cause i cant afford brand new. remember everything is coming out of my pocket not my parents. Also reason why im selling the sol is for a downpayment. But im keeping the b16 thats in it and putting it in my hatch. Anyhow sorry for being repetitive but you guys keep telling me to haggle but like in what areas can i haggle with is my question? Any specifics in trying to make the best deal possible on a used xB. Thanks i appreciate guys.

Also theres atleast 5 used xB's and a handful new ones at the dealership my mom bought her corolla from.

white is better xb color than black cause the black is a dirty looking black.

If you're in LA go to Hamer Toyota in Mission Hills & speak to Russ. Tell him Tina (or Shrimp) sent ya & he might give ya a better deal! I know they have a bunch of used ones there right now.

do you folks realize that any and all dealer sold used scions sell for more than new ones? at least if the cars have less than 30k.
