Default Shattered my rear window...=(

Okay, so I woke up at 5 am to help my friend move down around the DC area. When we got to the U-Haul place, I backed up a little to give my friend some room. I saw a U-Haul truck behind me, but I thought I had at least a foot of room between my bumper and the side of the truck. Unfortunately I was wrong. The rear-view mirror stuck out about a foot from the rest of the truck, which is exactly the amount of space I estimated remained between our two vehicles. To make a a short story even shorter, in no time was I picking up the many parts of my shattered rear window from the back seat of my car.

My question is...Has anyone replaced their rear window? How much did it cost? And were they able to effectively reattach the defrosters?

Many thanks in advance!

$350? Yikes! I think you're going to be going through the insurance on this one...unless your deductible is something insane (mine's $500).

Call your insurance.

Good luck. =/

I do NOT recommend even telling your insurance company. Your deductible is probably more than the damage. And you DEFINITELY DONT want an accident on your record.

Get it fixed fast and move on. They can easily attach the rear defroster.

Yeah, the deductible is 500, so of course I'm not gonna report it. As for a new window, I guess I can thank Uncle Sam...Part of my income tax check will go towards replacing it. Thanks again guys for the replies!
