short ram intake
I was just wondering if any of you out there have had a problem with your check engine light, tracktion light, and vsc light on your dash come on at the same time? The only thing I have done to my xb is put on a short ram air intake on. Please help, the car still runs fine, but I hate for something bad happen down the road.
Your cold air short ram intake is not related to the VSC or traction. Check engine might relate to the mass air flow sensor, but that would throw codes right away after the intake install....IF it was dirty and / or broken. How long after the install did you see these idiot lights?
If you are still under warrenty, have Scion look at it.
Short ram intake will not void your warrenty.
The only thing that I might check is that mass air flow sensor. You installed the stock one into your short ram intake, right? Unscrew it and inspect it. Clean it if it looks dirty. Reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery positive for a few minutes.
Good luck......report resolution and post photos so we don't have to use our imagination to visualize your box.

Im no mechanic but I too put on a short ram and the exact same thing happened. Took it off went to normal put it back same thing happened. Took it off went back to normal and left it off. I thought it couldnt have nothing to do with the VSC and everything but obviously it does
i installed a cold air intake last year and a similar thing happened.
funny thing was when i first started up the car it was fine. once i turned it off and then turned it on then the lights would show up. the car didn't handle any differently with the lights on. i then undid the battery to reset the codes or whatever and then started up the car with the lights gone. once i turned the car off and on again that's when the lights popped on again.
turned out that when i installed my cold air i forgot to hook up a valve. the valve turned out to be for some air vacuum that was for left over fuel emissions. Once i connected the valve everything was hunky dory. it was the VSV, Vacuum Switching Valve, i believe.
good luck
