Hi! I'm new.
And I'm seriously thinking about trading in my slowly dying 1997 Ford Taurus LX for an xB.
Now for the big question, should I go for a 2005 model, or wait for a 2006? My car should keep running fine for at least another few months if I have to wait. I'd really love to have the iPod connection because I have an iPod I use in my Taurus and would love to keep using it in the xB. That's the only new feature that's really important to me. Is there any indication of when dealerships will start selling the 06 xB's?

I finally got to test drive one yesterday and liked it except for 2 major problems.
#1 The Lack of an arm rest for the driver (Which I found out from this site can be added, so that's not a problem)
#2 The way the seat was set up, while in the drivers seat my legs were squished together pretty tight. And I like to spread them out at least a little bit while driving. The salesman I was talking with was new, and said the seat would only move back. I tried that, and it didn't help much. Talked to another salesman today and he said the bottom cushion can move up a little (Be inflated or something.) I have a feeling that would fix my problem completely. I'm gonna test drive again Thursday to see if that'll fix me one and only current problem with one of the most awesome cars I've ever driven.
If that thing with the seat doesn't fix my problem, I may just start looking into a tC.

 

I'd wait for 06. It's only a couple more months, and they're going to have a few new features.

 

Oh, okay. I talked to a salesman on the phone today who was saying they probably wouldn't be available until October or November. I'm thinking he just wanted to sell me one right now.

 

I would get the 05, looks like a price increase is coming for 06

 

I've always thought it is a bad idea to hold out on a vehicle just for the ipod connection. We hear that a lot. Depending on how much the price increase will be between the '05 and the '06 it may not be worth it. You can always get some type of after market part for that.

 

Does color matter? If you want one of the 05 colors thats being fazed out then get an 05.

side note: does anyone know anything about the seat cushion being adjustable? that would help my wife a bit (she's really short)

I would buy now! That is, if you can get your hands on one. Here in Oregon, thier is a 8 week waiting list on xB's

The slight chance that Scion will add a couple of new colors, and a rotoary **** on the stereo would not be enough to hold me back!

 

is that all that is being added, uhh the **** thing? or is anything on the body changing like turn signal mirrors or anything else 'major'

Yes, thier has been no PROVEN changes on the 06' xB. Knowing Toyota, the rotory volume ****** stereo (from the 06' tC) will be standard, and thier might be a few color changes.

If you want an xB, just go out and buy an 05'!

I'm gonna do another test drive today. Hopefully the seat cushion can be adjusted so i can drive the car comfortably. If not I'll probably end up getting a tC within the next month. I want the xB though. So cool, so much room, so much cheaper.

 

Grab that xb and then ****** a booster chair from Denny's

Well, I test drove it, and actually right when I got in the car it was perfectly adjusted so I didn't have the leg room problem. We drove it for a few miles and with each foot I drove I loved the car more and more. After driving it and talking with the dealer for a while I decided I'm gonna wait until the 06 models. He agreed that it's a good idea. Mainly because of the steering wheel controls and the iPod connection (I don't use CD's anymore, I have all my music on my iPod and I'd love the convenience of just plugging it in and controling it from the Head Unit or steering wheel. According to him the 06's won't be in until September or October, but I can wait that long.
Does anyone have any clue where the iPod is gonna connect on these things? It makes sense in the tC, it's in the center console. I can't figure out where it would connect in the xB.
Is it September/October yet?
