Side swiped 2004 Scion xB
On monday I was in an accident, and frankly unsure of fault currently, but since the other dude left the scene prematurely, and also gave us wrong info (and we now have at least a correct phone number, but he wont call us back), i think i feel less at fault... Anyway, I was side swiped as I made a turn... Wonder what the cost to fix this will be... (thank god for insurance?) The side skirt was ripped off too (i went and picked it up). This car has been a trooper I guess, I guess its been in an accident or two before. I use this car for work, it belongs to my employers, and everyone who has used it before has managed to have some sort of collision.

I would never try and make light of any accident, but lucky for you this is nothing. You got lucky. This is a simple repair by any body shop. Expect for the repairs to be no less than $500 and no more than $1000. Like I said, this is nothing, and you have nothing to worry about. It can be fixed very easily by a professional.
as a cop i def. agree to do the police report first. also in tennessee we have laws against people trying to deceit you and there could be criminal charges on the guy. failure to give info and render aid is one that pops up immediately (hit and run in most places) and fraud and depending on how the law is written in your area he could be charged with criminal impersonation. dont let it slide by any means and take the guy to court for vehicle damages, time from work, time without vehicle, rental vehicle, etc etc.
My '05 has a jacked up side skirt as well (Rocker Moulding) and to get a painted one... $300 or so. So the cost may be higher, but... we've driven with the jacked up side for years.
