Default Specific Question about Lund Bug Deflectors...

I went to http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/pe...rformance.html to check out bug deflectors..

I have a couple questions:
1. The first two say 2004-2004.. It'll work on a 2005, right??
2. Whats the difference between the $65.47 shield and the $52.47 shield??
3. I know this can be mounted with tape.. Can they be removed without having to go the "Drilled holes" route? I would like to be able to take it off to wash/wax my car.
4. Does it cause much road noise or move around alot? I dont want it to do more damage than good.

I searched all of the "Bug Deflector" threads, but none of those specific questions were answered (that I saw atleast). If they were, I apologize for skimming over them.

I'm looking at ordering one tonight. I wash/clayed/waxed my car last night. I was looking at it and, after only having the car for one year, it looks like the front end has already went through hell.. Espically the front of the hood and above the windshield.. Hopefully the bug deflector will help out..

Default I bought this deflector...

Yes, 2004, 2005 are the same. Hood is the same part.

The deflector does not use tape, 4 body fastners are used in the four holes that are already in the underside of your hood. A phillips head screw driver will remove them and they go in by pushing them through the deflector into the hole in your hood. They expand and hold fast.

The $52 shield is not as tall and may not deflect as many bugs. It may deflect them only partially. I got the $65 clear one and it works great. See photos in my posts.

It can remain on car for washing and waxing, your hand will fit between the hood and the deflector. It will be O.K. in a car wash.

No road noise unless you ride on your front bumper (joke). No damage will occur.
This product will prevent damage. What color box do you have?

^ Nice night pics with the shield on. I had the WeatherTech one. Man major road noise. You are force to use the adhessive tape that's already attach to it. Can't use holes. I took mine off. It was even a pain to take it off. Had to use a dull flat blade to create a barried between my hood and the adhesive tape. With the WeatherTech you also have room to move your hand between the deflector and the hood. But I believe it had too much room thus the road noise.

I've got the blue onyx pearl.. I think Im going to go with a tinted on because, unfortunatly, on the front of my hood a few bugs have died and I cant get their bodies off.. I've tried clay, seafoam bug remover, tropicare swirl cutter and multiple washes and no luck.

Im getting chips and stuff touched up until after this winter time (when the salt kills my front end). Then after that, I'll take it to a pro to get it fixed up and will probably consider a clear bra.

But, for now, I think I'll get the $65 protector and help minimize as much as I can..

Those bug bodies will eventually come off. I think clear would be best for your BLUE BOX. The choise is clear or that dark (smoke) brown. And the ghay designers say that brown and blue do not mix (match).

Well, what process should I take to get the rest of the bug juice off? I've done clay, swirl remover, and seaform bug spray.. Dunno what else to try.. The only thing I can think of is I was being too gentle when rubbing them off.. I didnt want to scratch up the paint anymore than it was

Default BUG & TAR REMOVER...

Did you try that BUG & TAR remover product? It works well and is paint safe.
Any auto store, in a white can. It's liquid. If you can't find it, ask for BUGGIN' TAR REMOVER!
