Default Spoiler install question

Has anyone isntalled a spoiler using double sided tape only? I bought a used camo spoiler for $50 and it did not come with the hardware. So i am left to improvise.
Also are the bolt hole covers on top of the spoiler orderable from Toyota?

Any Ideas? I was thinking I could still bolt the top but am unsure.

I know this is a repost of sorts but didn't really get the answers i was looking for.

I used VHB tape by 3M. It is used on aircraft in place of certain rivets.

It won't come off, even in hot humid areas. Beats drilling.

Also use some adhesive enhancer for the contact.

VERY HEAVY BOND!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, the tape has to cure for at least 3 days. No driving!

I have a cf wing thats held on by 3m tape. It's been on for about two months and still holding. I have driven through some pretty scary wind storms also and all is good still.

depends, I would say tape , those holes are incredibly unpleasant to look at if you decide to get rid of it or take it off eventually. If you are certain its permanent than hardware away. good luck

I have a cf oem style spoiler too. Pretty light anyway and with this type of tape you are gonna be OK. I got instructions with the tape the 2nd time I ordered and it said you gotta let it cure,,,,,

What are the chances of it really falling off your trunk hood? As this thread talks more and more about DSD-tape and adheisives, im kind of tempted to buy a wing now LOL...

Wow, the spoiler looks way better than none, IMHO. The stock spoiler-less rear hatch just looks like it needs something. No disrespect to non-spoiler boxes, mind you. Mine is never coming back off!

That said, the current automotive grade tapes are very strong when done correctly. Even the factory Toyota installed spoiler tape seemed very tough.

oni424: Did you get the templates? So which is it? Tape or bolts?
