Default Squeaking and Crunching Noise

Shortly after I start my xA, the first right turn I make would make this squeaking sound and then like a crunch. This has happened two or three times since yesterday. I have no mods, everything plus tires are stock and the car is fairly new, about 600 miles/1 month old.

Any clues what this is?

I have no idea, but I've noticed this same problem when I back out of my parking space at full-turn. It sounds horrible, and I'm very nervous about it.

I'll be taking it to the dealership very soon.

It's not the new tires sticking to the ground, is it? Because that's what my 2-day old xA is doing in my garage parking space - when I turn the wheels, they squeek like a new pair of sneakers on the gym floor. The other thing to avoid is forcing the steering wheel past the extreme right or left, it will squeal.

There is no forcing involved, and definitely not the tires. This is more metallic sounding.

I'd be interested in hearing what has caused this noise, please keep us updated when you have the chance.

What you are probably hearing is the metal on the steering stops. You will only hear it when you are fully turned. My old car used to do that all of the time. It depands on how the steering is limited. Some cars you can hear it on and others you can't.

Interesting. This is a possiblity, but I never experienced it on my xB. I'll keep everyone updated on how my dealer visit goes (I don't know when I'll be able drop it off)

Ok so I went to the dealer today and he said the squeaking sound is something like my brakes being too close to a gear and it rubs for a metalic sound with wide turns. They extended it a bit. Then the crunch sound is the ABS brake and they can do nothing about it

I'm just wondering, anyone else have the ABS brake sound? Like everytime you start your car, you'd go a couple feet and then a crunch sound would happen on the right side.

I think I know what you are talking about.

In my 95 S-10, sometimes when I brake hard I get a crunch sound, easily done when the ground is wet. and sometimes when I brake before I take the first turn when leaving my street. I have been told that it is the ABS.

when this happens does you xA sorta lurch like your tapping your brakes?
