Stock Pioneer MP3 plays songs in weird order
I burned nine albums onto a cd in MP3 format- I used a program that came with my son's Dell. Anyway, on the computer the albums were recorded to one directory, but are recorded with all of the songs to each album next to one another. However, when I play the MP3 CD on the stock Pioneer radio the songs seem to not be in the order they were recorded. The songs are numbered 1-94 but they are all mixed up. Any ideas????

They're probably burned in alphabetical order, which is a problem when each file name starts with what number track it is (i.e. 01 Holidays In the Sun.mp3, 01 Nevermind.mp3). What you want to do is open Easy CD Creator (your kid's computer probably already has it installed, look in the start/programs/roxio menu), go to file/new/mp3 player disc. From there you want to drag folders with your music onto the disc, one folder per album. Burn that fool, pop it in the CD player and viola!

DrG said they were all in the same folder. Actually either solution could be correct, but I'm guessing it's the alphabetic issue. I do mine in the folders.
Also, watch out for the 01,10 issue. If your MP3 ripper doesn't add a leading zero to the single digit numbers, the computer will align them weird:
1
10
11
12...etc.
2
3
4
5

You learn something new every day. I never burned MP3's before. So, it was my error that they were mixed up. They were recorded in some alphabetical /number order. I reburned the albums into separate folders and they are now in the order I wanted them to be. Too bad the cd player can't give readout of album name and song name at same time.
