Default Sun Visors

As all you "box" owners know, the interior sun visors are pretty much useless when swung to the side windows. They are waaaay too short and actually cover less than half the window width. Has anyone come up with a good fix for this? I've tried the static cling "baby shade" vinyl things, but the don't look too grat and come off when the window is run down. I travel south to work in the early AM when the sun is low, and it just comes blazin' in the corner of my left eye.

Now I'm not recommending this because it's ghetto as all hell, but damnit, this worked like a mother!

My old buddy Randy (of the Randy Rules) had a Honda Accord with stubby visors. He just clipped (using visor mirror clips or something like that) a piece of cardboard from a Dr. Pepper box to the visor and pulled it out when he slipped the visor to the side window.

Perhaps you can class up this little setup with a little thought. It really did work well...

The solution for me was E-SAM's window visors, they block the sun a good 3 inches down from top of the door frame. If you are short, this may not be enough. Do not expect the tiny in-channel window visors to do anything to block the sun, they are just too slim. E-SAM's also block sun around the A piller.

E-SAM is a brand of window visor. From Japan, JDM like... Japanese Domestic Merket style and way better than anything in America. Go to this link or search for E-SAM...

How tall are you? How do you sit? They work perfectly fine for me.

I am 6 feet tall. I do not slouch, but I could slouch some and still have the sun blocked by these E-SAM visors. Toyota's Avalov has plastic extention wings built into the ends of the sun visors, a smart design Scion should have copied.

By the way.... be careful with the damn visors. They scratch so easily! Cost me $250, too!

esams also impede quite a bit of your vision.

my solution was the Wade inchannel visors, I love the way they look and they are significantly less expensive than the esams....you can get them from fujiz.com..I have a friend who has the esams and mine don't come down as far as those do but they still work very well, I almost never turn my visor to the side..

How about a solution that goes INSIDE the box? I'm still looking at a sun visor swap, but I don't know which ones to use. Has anybody done this yet?

WHAT?!?! You are most certainly no longer Scion certified, lol. That is however the funniest solution to a problem I think I have ever heard!

how about a 25$ visor tint? just go really dark . . .
sunglasses . . .
cataract glasses . . .
window graphics . . .

not in-channel and sleek.

and way over priced.
