Default tC key in an xB?

Picked up my new xB last night - I am pumped about adding accessories to suit my taste! I noticed that the tC's get a cool all-in-one key fob remote/key. Does anybody know if these keys could be cut to fit an xB and the remote programmed for an xB?

I asked this in another thread and got no response. I see on eBay they are listed for both, but take that for what it is worth. I just want to remove one of my remotes from my keychain.

I'm surprised no one has chimed in yet to let us know if it is possible or not.

just try to take apart the remote and fit it in there. the 07's tc's have new keys... cuz the plastic seems to wear away... so the 07's have dividers and rubber buttons. just wait and check those out.. .see what you like most.. i bet someone can figure it out. call your local toyota and ask. they started using the same keys with some 07 toyotas.

i think it will work... now that they have the same keys... for toyota/scion... it should.. i dont see why it would be a problem.

its a wonder every other company hasnt copied them..i mean its way better then haveing a key and the entry fob thingy. though the tC is pretty nice its still bulky comapred to the VW key. Little things like that is what makes me love VW, its a small detail that makes a big difference

I'm thinking of going to a push button style. Anyone know of a kit so you can have the car recognize the FOB and enable start like the new vettes? That'd be sweet!

the new prius's... all you have to do is have a small remote thing in your pocket... when you walk up to the car it will unlock for you... then you sit down and as long as the remote is near... you just hit the start button and go

and since its toyota... its your best bet on working

getting back to the answer with the tC key fob for an xB, the answer is no. I asked my local ion Dealer and they say its Model specific. But with rhe right amount of money you can get a custom one like the VW key fobs.

that prius key that senses you when you get close is kinda annoying. It doesnt unlock right before you get to the car so that you can just open it and go. You have to stand there 3-15 seconds most every time. When its raining thats not very cool, but then again just get your key out.
