aftermarket springs don't always necessarily give you a bouncier ride. My H&R Race springs have no bounce, and a very controlled ride.

the springs support the weight of the vehicle and the shocks and struts do the controlling. springs have nothing to do with control.

they do have a part in the ride quality

It don't matter how good your dampers are, if the springs are stiff the ride will be stiff. The dampers control the rate at which the suspention will travel and the springs control the motion of the wheels.

so either crappy springs or crappy dampers will = crappy ride. It is a combination of the two that = a good riding car.
