There's a spider living in my box!

I had one living behind my drivers side door mirror last week. He was fast !! Every time I came to my car, he was out there for me to see. Big and ugly. As soon as I tried anything, he was gone.......behind the mirror.
I was afraid to drive around with the drivers window open because I thought he would come out when I was driving and the wind would blow him up my sleeve and I would wreck or something.
I had to spray insect killer behind the mirror, then wash the whole car. My box looked nice,.......BUT.............Sadly, he didn't make it. May he rest in peace.

I am an arachnaphobe. Have been all my life. The ironic thing is, I am completely immune to their bites. As a teenager I once had so many black widow bites on my legs you couldn't see any place where there wasn't a bite. In the Air Force I experienced 7 bites from Brown Recluse spiders while cleaning an old, unused piece of equipment. In every case all evidence of bites disappeared within minutes. The ER doctor in the Air Force called me a liar until a sargeant stepped forward with a jar with the 7 spiders in it.

if you're afraid that the spider might be poisonous, i'd bomb the box with a pest killer (in a garage, for better killing power) then clean it from top to bottom. otherwise the life expectancy can vary, mainly based on whether it can find food or not and if there are changes in the climate.
i don't think we have many poisonous spiders here in chicago so i don't care about my little friend, but depending on where you live that might be a different story.

I GOT HIS SMART A$$!
He got stupid the other day in the rain, walked accross the dash at a stoplight and that was his demise...
I reached down, got my papertowel out of the cupholder...
BHAM! POW! JOHNSON! HISTORY!!!
BTW: He had a dumb cousin living in the SS... I got him Saturday night when he took a stroll on the windshield...
The vacuum was the best idea, I hadn't had the chance to drag it out.

That freaks me out a little. There are like little spiders in my house all the time. In like every corner downstairs there are webs. I remember one time I was watching tv in the dark and this spider was hanging from the ceiling and then it was moving down you know like falling down on the web part I dunno what it's called and it fell into my point of view. I kinda freaked. Is there any way to not get them at all???

if it was one of those daddy long legs ones that look like a floating dust bunny ...i wouldnt kill it awwww so cuttteee!! i would greet it every day and give it a name probley dust bunny since thats what it looks like.... i used to play with them as a kid there teeth too small to puncture the skin even though they are the most venomous spiders in the world if i remember what discover channel said lol!
but then again spiders are good because they eat other insects you KNOW we dont want in our cars for sure!!

Hmm. I had a spider in my xb from day one, kept leaving webs all over the car. This thread leads me to believe that spiders may actually be a standard option from the Scion factory. For those that didn't get the spider option, I am sure they can be purchased from the dealer.
