No, pork is not "anti-rice."

Because calling someone/thing RICE is American slang, they wouldn't know of it. They would probably just say (in Japanese) that it's not stylish, American style is overblown, and it's just not cool.

But, that would be mistakenly underestimating the power of being different in Japan.

I can look at that BB and think, "Whoa, that is MAD CRAZY over the top.........totally outrageous." BUT, I still respect it because A) a lot of time, thought and energy went into the car B) I am sure that all of his parts are NOT replicas and C) he's original.

So I have another idea now.

What if....

You were to sell some headlamps/badges/other fairly small USDM stuff on ebay Japan. Then, instead of shipping the stuff, you take a vacation to Japan and bring the stuff with you to Tokyo (or wherever) and then mail it from there. Do you think the profit from the sale of parts would be enough to pay for the plane ticket?? I'm seeing a free vacation here!! Plus you'll be helping some Japanese tuner kids pork their bB (wait, that didn't sound right...). THEN you could bootleg back some of those sweet JDM folding mirrors, badges, tails, etc and maybe pay for your hotel or whatever when you sell those here!

I've always kind of wanted to go to Japan...

Well grizzly_choppers if you can find a ticket for under 1000 dollars than please tell me. My wife is trying to come back to America from Japan and everything is around 1300 dollars which would not be worth trying to sell USDM parts. If you could find a cheap ticket that would be sweet.

A) Why spend time, money and effort making something worse than what you started wth?

B) They're not replicas because no other copy of that kit will ever be wanted by anyone.

C) Thank Goodness for that. ;)

Where r those pics taken? That H2 looks like the one I saw @ my stepdad's job (TLS Long Beach) [the place dat gets da Scions from JP]. Just to let ya know Toyota is importing H2s and Navi's to JP. I think that is funny how they want xB emblems and we want bB emblems.

Unfortunately I have no idea where this pic was taken. It was emailed to me by my Scion regional rep a couple of weeks ago just for kicks. Can anybody read the signs or plates and help us out??

Kinda looks like an airport parking lot or something though...

Oh yeah, and it probably WOULD be "apple pie". Hmmmmm, "So I rolled up on this dude in what could've been a really sweet bB, but the damn thing was totally 'pied!"

Yeah, I like it.

it is obvious that the pic was taken somewhere in asia, look at all the different cars in the background (new vitz, nissan cube, one of those honda K-cars etc..) not to mention the everythin is done in forign characters. but all the same pay no attention to the H2. LOL
