Default Trade in your xB!

Yes folks trade it in because I'm looking for a Scion Certified Pre-Owned xB. Especially the RS1, RS3, and RS2 (in that order) xB's and the RS1 xA. I'll look again once the new "xB" starts to be sold at the dealer lots. Hopefully the dealers can push the Scion CPO Classic Box out the door at considerably cheaper price than now.

I doubt the RS1-2-3 owners are gonna be selling them anytime soon. Maybe the rest of them might try changing it up but who knows for sure. Time will tell. I wouldn't mind picking up a nice RS1.0 for around $8K with low miles.

I see lava ones for sale all the time. Only problem is the prices haven't come down yet to what I'm willing to pay for a second xB. They will eventually tho and I'll pick one up.

I will not be in the mood to change out my 30+ MPG xB for a 20 something xB anytime soon. You can have my RS2 when they pull my cold dead fingers off of the steering wheel.......

I am hanging on to mine too, it's not an "RS" series, but I am yet to be convinced by the look of the new one.

mine is for sale, but for other reasons
(and my commute is shorter now)
but if it does end up selling when the time comes to pick one up i'll be looking for a used 1st gen instead of a second gen.

the 2nd gen will be a good car no doubt, and it is stylish but it lacks the character and dynamic of the 1st gen

its been said 100 times...scion listened to the haters when they developed the xB2...haters thought it was to boxy, to small, and didn’t have enough power...and look what happened!

they could have sold me on an 08 if it was the same car as the xB1 but with the 1.8l engine! (thats in the xD)

i predict the xD to be the new leader. the xB2 is to big and will suck to much gas and with ppl predicting $4.00/gal this summer (right when the xB2 comes out) ppl are really going to be turn off to anything with a "2" infront of the MPG

^^^ could not have said it better myself. personally, i don't like it. i live in time square where parking is a b!tch and a half so i wanted something small. besides, hearing about people that have the gen 1 xB and having over 100k miles on the odometer and not having issues with the car makes me want to keep it. if it ain't broke, why fix it? im going to stick with my current box until the wheels fall off ;]

In other news, im thinking about trading in my hummer h2 for either an acura RDX (nice) or the MDX (preferred)... the new 07's are crazy... so many features and it's an acura... I see acura mdx's on ebay for sale with over 180k miles on them and they're running absolutely fine! quality over status anyday!@#

YourNameHere said it all! All they had to do to update the 1st gen xB was add the 1.8 drivetrain, add some side airbags for the worrywarts and make cruise control standard and it would have continued to excell in sales. It prolly would have gotten many more of us to change over to the new configurartion too. Guess that would have been too easy!

yup #1 complient from owners (esp cvt owners) was lack of power and engine pep. So they fixed that but broke several things that were right about the car.

I'll make an even simplier correction to that problem as well. Develop the TRD SC that was originally planned for the 1.5L and make it with a clutch pac switch that enables you to turn boost on and off for power versus effiency.

Nah, They could have simply put an A/C type clutch on the drive pully connected to a switch. Flick the switch you got S/C boost, flick it the other way turn boost off. Simple.

yup it is super simple
that vw 1.4 and 1.6L twincharged engines are pretty awesome and make great sense in Europe where you a taxed on engine size. For the US market I almost have an idea that would totally opposite for a small engine. Have it running high compression high revving engine with a small compressor s/c that is switched off when the 3rd lob on the variable valve timing kicks in. Thus you're never boosting at the high rpms with the high compression so detonation isn't an issue and you have the added grunt in the bottom end so it isn't lifeless before the valve timing kicks in.
