Traded Cobra for Xb, now got probs...
Sup all,
Well it wasnt quite a Cobra but it was an 03 gt, which stock ran 13.9's, and only had 18,000 miles. So here I am gettin slammed with v8 gas mileage, and ultra high-end FORD reliability, oh and lets not forget my wonderful RWD in the snow
...so i says to myself "hmmmmm, gee wilikers I should stick to my families toyota/honda purist tradition and go get me a scion and save me some dough,yo!" Besides I could stay the black sheep of the fam and later on and get me a zo6. Sooooo, I got me an 06 black box. stick. And luckily I didnt get ripped a new one on the stang trade in because i got it so cheap. I only got 500 miles, on the yankee fitted(yankee logo on back windshiled and people tell me it looks like a new era fitted hat...but u figured that right?)lol.
So I get home drive it for a bit, and my fam/friends start askin me did i have an accident in the stang and was the xb a rental. To add insult to injury my windshield has very nice 2ft. crack, and now my car doesn't wanna lock with the remote? I searched around and saw the windshield issue...but the locking issue? anyone experience that? At first i thought it was the remote cause it fell in the snow, but i tried the other remote and get the same thing... now i don't know if its a remote issue or a physical car issue?
.....by the way im devin, lol. Please convince me guys that deep inside, my car is still a Toyota! hopefully the soul of the ford isn't lurking in my box for 2 long.

i traded a ferd for a box as well.
they are not even close to the same thing.
go to the dealership, tell them about the remote and the windshield and it should get fixed right away.

Your situation is very similar to mine. I had a V8 Infiniti. Got horrible gas mileage and required premium fuel. My RS3 just got in on Saturday. That is the biggest plus is the gas mileage. Like everyone else has said. They should fix your alarm system for you. Sometimes when those get real cold they can stop working, I hear.
The remote has a water resistant rubber seal inside of it. Dropping it in the snow shouldn't have mattered in the least. It is probably just a programming issue. They will take care of it for you, as toyota always takes care of their problems. Make sure you speak with a scion rep, because at some dealerships, they have been known to be nicer and more accommodating than other service reps. We promise you will love your new box, and the awesome amount of money you'll save in gas. It might not be all as fast as the gt, but it will turn more heads after you start moddin it.
I got rid of my 349HP C32 AMG for the box. No regrets here. Nothing more expensive than fixing a high-performance Mercedes...
Toyota will make it all good. No worries. I'll bet you enjoy having people climb in the back without you having to pull the seat up so your knees are in your chest! I know I do!!

Yes, warranty on the lock issues. Not on the windshield. Owning a box you learn real quick not to follow close enough to get stone damage. Maybe you'll have better luck on the next windshield and keep 4 or 5 car lengths back.

Yes, it won't work if one of the 5 doors are ajar.
Sprskug, what kind of swap are you talking about?? He's putting a busa' motor in a T-bird or an xB or neither?

Seriously, tho. The windshield thing sucks. I had to replace mine already. Driving on the 605...suddenly: *tink*. The crack spread across the windshield in about 1 hour. It cost me about $250. Almost nobody but the stealership stocks that glass, and forget their charges. Two guys I know got cracks already...of course, in SoCal there's enough crap on the road to flying up to kill somebody.
I traded in my 2003 Mustang for a tC. I'm not sure it was really worth it. The tC is much hotter with a lot more goodies, but that 193HP felt so much damn better than this 160HP.
