Default Trading my baby in - Hello Civic Si

I local dealer of mine has a Civic Si Hatchback for the right price, so I've decided to go ahead and jump on it. Don't get me wrong, I love my xB - it's seen 60K miles of pizza delivery, and has been faithful for every mile, but I want something with more power. I haven't used my back seats, they've been folded down for nearly 100% of the time I've had my car - so going to a 2-door hatchback won't be much of a problem.

Good bye Scionlife - you've been one of the better car communities I've had the pleasure of being a member of. Not only that - but I respect everyone here for keeping discussions civil, and for providing the best and most comprehensive write-ups and information on customizing our vehicles. I've been looking for a good Honda forum, but I've yet to find one that is up to par with Scionlife

lol, congrats on hte civic Si hatch. i liked the hatches design better than the current coupes. honda killed a good design if they would have made it a little less chunky. good luck with it!

goodbye xb and (depending on where you live) HELLO higher insurance prices!

I was quoted like $2800 for 6 facking months of insurance on a civic coupe! let alone the si! for my xB, im paying $1200 for 6 months - which, i know is still high, but i live in manhattan - which explains it.

good luck with the civic.

That's funny my previous ride was a 99 civic si.....I loved it.....then the xB came out...I wanted it too....but I wanted to keep my si...so I waited...Then one day I went to the movies, came out and my si was gone....! Police found it later that night. stripped, on blocks....my insurance totalled it.....the car was paid off so I got a nice check....Hello xB!!! I love both cars though... if it wasn't stolen and stripped I'd still have it and I probably would have bought an xB too...
anyway, that's my xB story....good luck with your si....you'll love it...post some pics!

If I didn't need all the room I would've gotten the si in a heartbeat especially since they have the sedan version now.

I can't say I blame you... it's a nice looking ride. There's still nothing out there that I would trade the box for though.

Actually - my insurance went down. Even funnier, I stayed with the same insurer, and I even started my own policy instead of being under my parents, and had lower deductible - but the price sent down! I was pretty surprised

I miss my xB though - saw a few on the road and I thought of it Things change - and my style does over time too. I was getting tired of driving economy cars, tired of low powered engines, tired of cost cutting - I wanted to vehicle that wasn't built for small budgets. Don't get me wrong though - I still love the xB - when it came out, it was quite the bargain for it's class. I put my deposit down on my xB before the car was even released outside of California. But times have changed, the compact class has become cutthroat again - I really think that the next version of the xB will definitely step it up a notch.

At the price I paid - the Civic just offered me more than my car could. It's more powerful, more refined, the seats make me want to have an orgasm, it's got a sunroof, along with alloy wheels, and a higher quality interior.

I was looking at a 2006 Civic Si when I was looking for a car. Ended up getting the xB. Couldn't get a discount because it was new and they didn't have any in stock. I did get to test drive one and it is definitely a nice car. Different than the xB but still a very nice car. You can't go wrong with a Honda.

At least you searched for that 200hp(ish) number through the Si, and not the SS! And you can stop searching for another group of peeps as good as what you had at SL.
