There is no timing belt to replace, its a timing chain. And there is no need to change that at 56K miles, or any time sooner.
There are plenty of write ups here on SL as to how to replace your alt belt and power steering belt. But here again, it may not need it unless you have issues with them now ... like the notorious squeal from the OEM alt belt.

After owning V8 equipped American cars I was pleasantly surprised that xB's engine also had a timing chain (just like the big V8 engines). No worries about replacing it. I was surprised becasue most of the foreign 4-cylinder cars use timing belts. Life is good!

Well my car is making a squeaking/squealing noise more often and louder as time goes on, it sounds like a belt so thats why I assumed it was a timing belt
Timing belts are cogged (have teeth), so I don't think they'll ever squeal. They can stretch and skip a tooth or just break. But in xB's case, that is a moot point.

Depends when it happens - after starting with the lights on or A/C then the "Main" fat belt is slipping - if only when turning the steering, at low speeds typically, then the skinny power steering belt is slipping.They may just be loose too so check the tightness.
