Nonetheless, Dealers receive less compensation for warranty work than regular service rates and some have tried to deny warranty service. Under Magnusson-Moss Act a dealer must prove, not just vocalize, that aftermarket equipment caused the need for repairs before they can deny warranty coverage. If they cannot prove such claim-or proffer a questionable explanation- it is your legal right to demand compliance with the warranty. The Federal Trade Commission (202-326-312 administers the Magnusson-Moss Act and monitors compliance with warranty law."

This is federal law. Don't let any dealer try to tell you different, if they do, go to another one or call Scion USA and get them to give the service manager a little call too.

exactly if any one at the dealership wrongs you in any way you call toyota and start _____in toyota is very commited to cust satifaction the dealer is not the final word 8 out of 10
times if the dealer says no toyota says yes so dont take anyones crap

what about baggin an xb? u dont think theyre void anything? it should be ok then? a friend of mine got his suspension , transmission , and axles voided. all cuz he had rear bags.

it shouldnt by way of the magnussen act but i'm wonderin if someone with more info/experience could chime in.

I would think that the dealer would have to proove what was wrong with the tranny is directly related to the bags. It is possible of course. Lowering it to far and driving can play hell on joints which will bind and in turn can cause tranny difficulties. But say it is bagged but still has factory bump stops in place, then I would ask how could it not be covered. But having either removed or modified suspension components will most likely raise a huge red flag. I have walked the fine line between warranty and mods for 15 years, some are win some are lose.

if you bag an xB there are no bumpstops.


the act does provide the consumer with some protection but in the real world it doesnt stop a dealer from being annoying and not covering things.
