Default VIP Haters

I put this in this section because it is on topic for all xB owners.

I just want to know why there is so much hostility and hatred for us going the VIP route. Most of the VIPers are more than willing to give useful advice or opinions on other styles so why can't the same respect be given back to us? The reason why we can help other styles is becuase most of us have been the tuner style or some other. Not necessarily with the Box but maybe with another car and we can help with that style. Instead of telling us putting a table in our car is f-n stupid why not give us reasons why it may be unsafe or hey its looks good but you wouldn't do it because of your style. Another words if you dont have anything nice or helpful to say please do not leave a comment.

I made this one hopefuly a little nice so it wont get deleted because I really want to know why so much hatred is out there. I drive a Scion and I thought that meant to be different. I am trying to be different and the sad thing is I get more love from civics and other tuner style cars than I do from my own Scion community

Disclaimer... Name calling does not apply to everyone on this site but for those that it does you know who you are!!

Haters? I just see people giving their honest opinions about things. When people post up showing off parts, etc., they are just asking for opinions. Positive or negative.

So if you don't have the cajones to put up with the opinions put up, don't post about your stuff.

don't get me wrong I love getting opinions but what I can't stand is people coming in and just stating "It's ___ cause it's VIP" or some lame ___ ____ like that. There is a difference between an opinion and an ignorant statement.

Another statement I don't like is when someone comments that the VIP road has been traveled 3,445,667,899,568 times when truthfully there aren't that many that successfully pull it off. I guarantee it is alot less than those "tuner" styles. Not saying that tuner is bad at all because done right tuner can be f-n sweet. Just saying VIP is probably the rarest road traveled

What I hate most is when those people giving "their honest opinion" don't back it up with any sort of logical reasoning or helpful criticism. It seems people who take the time to post one liners like "That's stupid!" are really just tyring to spark an argument. It takes effort to be mean.

At the same time, I think a lot of people are too sensitive. People shouldn't get all riled up when someone posts some pointless negativity. What's worse is when someone stoops down to their level and responds with equal pointlessness. When people are called names, why do they feel the need to defend themselves? Just ignore them, it's just the internet.

Yeah, I think the internet kinda distorts people's sense of reality. I guess when the term "VIP" gets thrown around a lot and you see the same 3 VIP cars over and over and over and camber htis, camber that, folks start thinking everyone is doing it.

precisely where as who has actually successfully done it in the state? maybe 40-50 in the nation.... I dont even consider my box VIP yet because I havent added the distiguished touches yet. While they are on order I have not gotten them yet. But I am slowly traveling the road.

Maybe if you didn't refer to people as ****** in your original post, you'd get more "friendly debate"...

LOL...I'm confused on mine.

It seems mine is coming out JDM on the outside and VIP on the inside.

And the VIP table is HAWT!!! so many uses (especially for the passenger).

VIP is nice... I'm trying to go down that road as well. There are those who like it and those who oddly dislike it? I dunno why, but I think xB's are really nice for VIP, since they got no power, handling, or ummm... what most powerful sports car have... VIP is the way to go =)

Let me start off by saying that I am far, FAR from an expert on VIP. And to be honest, wasn't even really familiar with the term until I got involved with Scions.

Now correct me if I am wrong but an xB could never truly be a VIP car by the strictest standard. You can only hope to create a "VIP Style" car by customizing an xB. Is this correct? My understanding is that a VIP car must begin life as a full size sedan. Something the xB (bB) is not.

Moving past that point, I will assume what you are actually referring to is a VIP style build. While I can appreciate the effort that goes into a completed build, and even like some of the aspects of VIP, as a whole I do not care for the style.

I love an ultra-low stance, and I love a set of custom wheels with a nice deep lip. I don't like "flush" wheels that actually stick out beyond the fenders. I don't care for stretched tires, and I don't care for wildly flared fenders. "All things in moderation" is a very good motto to build by. A wild build will catch more eyes, but for all of the wrong reasons. Subtlety is key for me, and my personal style.

Then there are the VIP style interiors. Most of this I just don't get. I can appreciate a nicely appointed interior, but many of the VIP staples are just too much for me. Especially on a low dollar car like the xB. Tables? Really? Leave those to the back of big luxury sedans and limousines being driven by chauffeurs. Curtains? Come on. Is it 1976 again? Did we just time warp back into my uncles van? Lets go ahead and install a lava lamp, **** carpet and a fold out couch in the back as well.

And on the subject of lamps, what's the deal with hanging chandeliers from the roof? What's next? A nice marble floor, or maybe a stylish granite dash. And of course we can't forget the nice controls for the HVAC system. Boy nothing looks nicer than a set of "crystal" ***** that match your chandelier. Then again, I suppose they go well with your wookie fur covered seats.

Again... I am not hating on anyone, or how they choose to build. Simply stating my own opinion on what I perceive a particular style to be. If I am wrong correct me. If you don't like what I have to say, that is fine too. But don't get all upset just because someone with taste doesn't like the way you choose to build YOUR car. If you can't be secure enough in the decisions you make in your own build, you shouldn't open yourself up to criticism.

very nicely put... i see your side and that is exactly how people should post opinions or dislikes. not just "Ugly, Stupid and ___" I can appreciate a well debated opinion. And your right a bB or xB will never be a VIP car but VIP styled stricly because VIP cars are the lexus' and things of that nature. Thanks.. anyone else?
