Warranty Issue
The warranty isn't something that is voided as a whole to start with. secondly, they have to be able to show that your aftermarket parts caused the problem. If you have a squeak in your stock suspension, but you added an intake, that won't negate the coverage. If you have a wheel bearing going out and you've got heavy chrome wheels on it, that might not be covered. Slap a turbo on, they most likely won't cover your engine if you blast it, but it should only affect those parts related or connected with the aftermarket add-ons. I hope that makes sense. Do a google search for Magnussen-Moss Act, I believe it's called.
i have aftermarket headers and i asked a friend of a family member who works at the dealership and they said it wouldnt void my warrenty....so probely not....i serviced my car 3 days ago...not a word they were too busy actually playing with my OOOOOga horn in my Xb to really notice i guess LOL!
If for some reason, something that you installed on the car might void a portion of the warranty, just install the stock component. Example. Your MAF sensor goes out on your Injen Intake. They would most likely say its because of your Injen Intake. Just reinstall the stock intake before bringing it back to Toyota. Same thing goes for everything that you install. Your exhaust has flanges on it i suppose. Hopefully you didnt just hack off the stock one.
Can't just re-install factory axle back since they are going to cut off the factory muff and weld on the new one. Most cutom axle back are not going to fabricate an axle back starting from the flange..that would take too long and cost much, much more than the snip and weld method!
here is your answer

Problem is that laguage is deliberately nebulus. I'm not having the dealer do the mos, just Meineke. Dealer can always blame a third party mod.
But thanks for the reply, I really do appreciate it!

When I bought my 1999 Ford F 150 I also bought the 7 year 70,000 mile warranty. I then installed a 3" exhaust from the "Y" back with a Magnaflow muffler and a K&N filter that I installed by pulling out half of the air intake ducting and used a sabre saw to cut part of the plastic away to expose the filter. At 68,500 I blew a head gasket and they honored my warranty. Not only that but I bought my truck at MacPherson Ford in Tustin and then I took my truck to Santa Margarita Ford for the repairs. They also gave me a rental car. I dont know who makes the decisions to not honor warranties but for the most part they honor them as long as there in effect. I guess what I'm trying to say is relax, your probably worrying for nothing.
