Anybody else have this "problem"? I don't know what it could be nor have i seen it before. It rubs off(he he) but its a pain...The white stuff on the weather stripping

i get thaton the c pillar. on the actauly paint. it doesnt do any harm and is gone aftera few days.

did you wax your car recently? or maybe car wash soup residue?

 

nope(its been there for weeks, possibly months), nope(didn't wax), and maybe so.

 

maybe oxidation ?

 

It's normal and wipes off. It came from when the weatherstripping was made. It's the same powder that comes on new bicycle inner tubes.

 

It's probably due to you running those wires across your door jamb and not through the firewall

 

omg... no kidding.. run those damn things through the fire wall will ya...

I think the white stuff is like a wax substance that they use to keep the rubber from weather checking.

 

It is some sort of a powder user in manufacturing process. I think it keeps the rubber from becoming sticky. You could try to wash it off with Rubbing alcohol. Or if you use some rubber/vinyl conditioner, that should hide the powder too.
