I did 35% on my fronts to match the rest and did 15% accross the top of the windshield.

i don't think our windows are tinted stock. they are just colored, like colored glass. not sure though.

Depends on where you car comes in, off the port, I think. (NOTE: I THINK).

I have noticed, that here in SOUTH FLORIDA, the back windows, stock tinted, are about 35% or so. But I have also noticed a few xB's from 'up north' that aren't as dark.

Like I said, I think that is how it works. I may be wrong.

well if they r colored then is it possible to get it removed if i want to go darker?
also.... does it cost a lot (like takeing off tint) to get the colored windows de-colored if i wanted to go with the tint?...... if that makes sense......

35% matches mine real close. The rears windows are colored glass and not tinted with film. If you wanted to go darker you could add film over the colored glass in the rear then figure out what shade you would need on the fronts to match. If you add say, 50% to the rear then you would prolly need to make the fronts 15 or 20% to match
Oh and all the xB's are the same from the factory. Otherwise if you needed a replacement piece of glass they would have to have different part numbers depending on where your car was sold and the amount of tinting the window had from the factory. Hope this helps and good luck.

ok guys heres the official stuff .
19-21% is what the rear privacy glass is.
put 20% on the fronts to match the rear privacy glass
and if you put 20% over the privacy glass you get the equivelent of 5% tint.

oh and privacy glass is just a glass with a color filter built into it. and all scion xb's have the same darkness privacy glass. ALOT of southern and "hot" state's dealers may add a slight tint to the rear glass because of the hotter environment but nah they're all the same.

Hope this helps guys ( and gals ) !!!

There's a guy on here named "windowtint" or something like that. He's got a lot of good info.

FWIW, here's mine with 50% up front. It looks a lot better than I expected and provides plenty of sunburn protection on long road trips. Under bright conditions you can tell it's not matched, but it's subtle. I would have gone 35% up front if Utah would have allowed it.

the front windows looks dark once you tint the rears just cuz theres soo much dark glass behind, darkens the entire inside.

I agree. It sure seems darker than I had originally though it would be. I'm really happy with 50%.

Thats strange how it looks darker in the second photo. The first one you can hardly see the tinting.

Sorry But I tried 20 % first and it was darker than the factory color. That is why I feel the 35% is a closer match. If you don't mind the front window being a little darke the 20 % is the way to go.

It's all about glare and lighting. That's why I put two pics up.

Darker fronts would really bother me. That just seems so backwards (and I'm kinda ****... )

Damn hotbox05, you confuse the heck out of me???? How did you get it right??? All you did is remember what window tint said about what he THINKS matches the stock color of the rear glass. Which is ACTUALLY too dark. Whereas 35% matches great and is just a tad lighter which is what he is looking for. Got it now?
