I bought another XB recently. It was a corporate-owned vehicle.

I found this (pictured) under the hood. I don't remember this from my other XB, and don't recognize it. It's connected to the throttle cable... sort of... but it's not obvious to me what it's doing.

Is this some kind of governor?

Can / should it be removed?

Looks like the Rostra cruise control...is there an additional 'stalk' on the steering column on the left side as that's where they recommend to install the control.

 

Yes, I *do* have the cruise control option, and that makes perfect sense!

Why on earth didn't I think about that?!

I think I've been paranoid about what a corporate-owned xB might come with. So far, it's been awesome, however.
