Some interesting lists and car stories for sure. To be fair, my little brother is the service manager at a Chrysler/Jeep dealer(he is a little ____ed about the box...LOL), so i have a source for bargain deals on used cars through him.

Lots of VW Bugs & a VW Bus.
Beaters (64 ford LTD Wagon, etc..)
Company cars. Pontiac Grand prix, Chevy Cavilier)
Assorted MGB's.

Sold my 65 Ford Ranchero when I bought the XB - just too many toys. You can only drive one at a time.

Current Stable;

1997 Ford Mustang Convertible
1973 MGBGT. In the back yard. A (someday) project car.
06 Chevy Colbalt. The company car. A disposable GM car, but pretty darn fast!

Im purchasing my xB with in the month so this is my current car. Its a 2002 Hyundai Accent.
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/503814

My first car was a 1991 Geo Metro LSI. I sold that and bought a 1997 Chevy Cavalier which is what I used to learn to drive stick on. I got into a head on collision with a Camaro and totaled it. I bought a 2001 Hyundai Accent and did some minor things with it. I had that car for 2.5 years and then I got caught in a chain reaction accident and it was totaled. Soon after I bought the 2002 Accent and did alot of work to it which is where it is at right now. I have always wanted an xB ever since the first time I saw one even though alot of people said they were the uglyest things on wheels. Ive been a Hyundai fan for over 4 years now and I just wanted a change. So im buying an xB. Im accually going to the dealership today and filling out the paper work on a 2006 silver xB.

Default Old ride

My old ride was a 1999 Honda Passport, I put alot into it and only had that fool for 8 months till my engin blew. I can't complain though I'm now the proud owner of an XB truly one of my dream cars, I knew I had to have one when I first saw it.

I first got a 1985 BMW 325e for my 15th birthday.
Black with tan leather, 5 speed manual.
I learned the stick quite quickly, but decided after a year that I would rather a automatic truck or SUV.

Then comes my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT.
Got this when I was 16.
Black with tan leather.
I really loved this truck, it was nice and big, quick, and good for surfing and girlfriend activities. ;)
The tranny started slipping and I was not about to fix that.

I decided to buy a brand new car.
$15,000 was my budget.
I decided to look japanese because I love japan and the JDM cars.
Finally came across the xB and was sold instantly.
Got the mod bug, and you know how the story goes. ;)

I have always worked for what I have.... I am not generally one to accept handouts. Sure my parents would buy things for me, and I would gladly accept, but it was more of things I earned, than handouts I would expect. I guess I was an oddball, because I always got along with my parents, and never really disrespected them much or talked back, got into arguements or any of that stuff... even during my teen years.... Never ditched school (I wasn't anywhere near an A student either..), didn't party, am an Eagle Scout, never touched a controlled substance in my life, don't drink even now that I am 23, I dunno... I got my first job when I was in 7th grade... I worked with a friend for about 2 years, and then got a new job shortly after turning 15. Now 23, I STILL work there part time, and have been at my full time salary job for 3 years now.

I didn't get my license till I was 17, and got my first car shortly thereafter. I had about $3000 saved up in the bank for a car, and another $5000 of mine that my mom moved from savings to these investment mutual funds or something.. (BOY, did those take a DIVE on 9/11, went down to like $1000, slowly making a come-back.. lol). I got my first car, 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix for right about $3000 after tax, title, registration, and all that fun stuff. The only thing I had to ask my parents to do was to get the money from the account for me (since it was a minor account, and THEY had to sign to withdraw money).

Now, my Brother is 17, straight A's student, and is a total jerk to my parents, and it ticks me off.. I ALWAYS give him a hard time and smack him upside the head whenever he starts with my mom... I don't let anyone mess with my mom... He has had 2 jobs, one was caddying, and he didn't make jack, so it was VERY short... The other job is he started at the same place I have been for 8 years, but he has only been there for barely a year. He is all expecting my parents to buy him a car and all this stuff, and I just laugh, cause his mind changes every 5 minutes about what he wants. [/rant]

anyways... here is my first car...

1986 Pontiac Grand Prix - last year it was RWD
4.3 Liter V6
around 110 HP
around 220 lb/ft torque at like 2800... not alot of HP, but it had tons of torque in the low end. Plenty to spin the tires.
Got it with 110,000 miles on it, junked it shortly after 150,000 miles

This was on a camping trip about 1 year after I bought it: (taken 2001ish)

This was at my old apartment about a year before I got my xB: (taken 2003ish)

FUNNY STORY: So, when I got rid of this thing, it was in BAD shape, and I just called an auto wrecker. They offered $40 for it, which I declined.... I stripped out the interior, kept the wheels and lights, and the auto wrecker took it for free.

I STILL have the interior, lights & wheels in storage. If anyone would like them (would likely fit MOST 80-86 G-body cars). PLEASE PM ME.... I am cleaning out the public storage locker THIS MONTH, and it is getting thrown away if no one wants it.

My 2005 BSP xB:

This last one was taken AFTER the 9 mile drive from the dealership showroom to my apartment... thats right... Got it with 1 mile on the clock.

Drove a lot:
1978 Ford Fiesta (Dad's car - learned to drive on)
1974 Maverick 302 V8 (Mom's car - fast)

Personally owned:
1971 Ford Pinto 1.6L (quietest idle ever)
1974 Fiat 128 SL (bad electrics, great brakes)
1976 Ford Pinto 2.3L (extremely durable)
1980 Mercury Bobcat (hateful car)
1985 Chrysler Lebaron GTS (great utility)
1982 Ford LTD (big American ride)
1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager 3.3L (wonderful)
1995 Dodge Stratus V6 (trouble)
2002 VW Passat V6 (trouble)
2005 Honda Odyssey (trouble so far)
2005 Scion xB (best car I've ever owned)

So I've had mixed results with domestics and imports alike, naturally affected by the vintage of the vehicles I could afford at the time I got them. My fondest memories are of the '71 Pinto and '78 Fiesta - the '05 xB reminds me of both in its simplicity, economy, and target market.

First car i've owned was a 1988 Chevy Cavalier S/W. My grandpa gave it to me when i started college so i could go to the university. It was automatic. It was in extremely good condition as my grandpa didnt used it much. I got it in 2001 and it just had 55000 original miles on it. AFter a while i got rear ended.
Later a guy wanted to trade me his 1999 Civic Hatchback for my Cavalier cause he was moving and he didnt want to keep paying it..BEST trade ever made.. That turned into my everyday and race car.. I turboed the SOHC non Vtec engine and was able tuo run low 12's sec on the 1/4 with it on pump gas.. It was super fun to race all these kids that thought that just because they had an Evo or STI they owned the road...well for sure they were owned.

I then boought my 2005 XB in October of 2005 and sold my Civic hatchback in March of 2006. I wanted to keep the hatch but unfortunatelly a modified car suck up a lot of money, specially when you run fast and want to make it faster(all i wanted with it was low 14's, and then i wanted 13's, and then i wanted 12's and before i sold it i was trying to run 11's)

So i have a Camo 05XB which will remain stock and slow for the moment while i can start a business of my own. Maybe later in the future i might attempt to take the XB into the 12's as i did with the civic.
