What's the chances of a 4WD xB coming stateside?
They sell a 4WD version of the BB in Japan, I don't see why it couldn't be sold in the states. Even if it was only a $1,200 to $1,800 dollar option, you could still get in on one well under 20 grand. It'd be the perfect replacement for my 4WD Tercel wagon.
I suppose Toyota wouldn't be too hip on the idea of a 4WD Scion xB, since it could cannibalize sales from 4WD the Matrix and even the RAV4. Hmm.

Even though I live in Florida, I find the 4WD on my Tercel really handy when driving on the beach or even in the crazy downpour rains we get here. Coupled with the standard stability control on the xB, you'd have a reasonably capable little vanlet.
I never understood why the US does not get a lot of smaller engine 4WD or AWD cars.
Even Ford does not sell like the AWD Focus over here... not fair.
A 4WD xB would sell well I would think.

It's not a full time AWD anyway. It's one of those AWD system tha tturn on only below 35mph or something like that. Because the Xb is targeted for mainly urban young folks, it wouldn't make sense for Toyota to bring WRD version of Xb to US.

It doesn't fit the Scion logic. The xB does great already in the snow so it would be a useless vehicle. Plus I hope Scion doesn't start offering an S.U.V. YUCK!, there I said the S word. Now I can go wash out my mouth. LMAO
On the Toyota Japan website it says something about a different engine offered in the 4WD version.

No wait, that's the 1.5 we already get here isn't it? It also looks like they have a 1.3 liter engine.

108 HP would still be plenty for me with 4WD. I've been driving my 62 hp Tercel with 4WD for years now with no troubles.
