Because MANY of the people that buy them don't follow through with the culture and "family" that many of the people here on SL do. I see the same thing around here... I see a tC occasionally and a few boxes... but many of the people just buy them b/c they're affordable and dependable vehicles.

I've noticed it too. I have to agree with ack154, most people don't care that you have the same make or model of car. To them it's just a tool to get them from point A to point B.

When you find someone that does wave it makes it that much more special.

I have stopped waving, its no fun anymore.
I still give a head nod, if they're friendly they'll see it, if the are not its subtle enough so I don't feel like an A-hole

I guess Scion owners use their cars to get from point xA to point xB.........

If you want a wave-back bad enough, you could just follow them and keep waving until you force them to wave back.

well i think waving could be interpeted in many different ways(depends on a person's state of mind at that moment) specially when someone just had a horrible day at work and wants to go home and relax....

what i like to do is stare at their car and if they notice me looking at their scion i smile, nod, and throw up a peace sign.... ive got nothing but good response

Exactly right Chad. It was cool in the beginning to wave because back then people were buying them for the "LOVE" of the car. Now they have become nothing more than "shall I say it?"an Appliance. And that is sad. I still wave anyhow. I don't see enough of them yet to stop. Guess it's the motorcyclist in me.

That's odd. Every box driver I've gone by waves, and I wave as well.

Southern people are just cool like that I guess ( being from the northeast, those people don't give a rats ___)

I usually wave, almost always get at least a smile or look of surprise, Scions are still few and far between here on my side of town.

^ Yes, there are still people who are not too cool or too tough to be friendly.

I was driving around last night and got my first wave...I felt so special, never owned a car where people would wave.
